Red one = gross
Black one = cool, but I never could get behind the exo-cage.

yeah you would,,, if you saw where he wheels that thing,,, the exo-cage is tied into the inside roll cage... he wheels this place we call the mall,,, its a boulder laced trail ,,, about a 1\4 mile long that takes about 2 hours to complete.

Well it looks like the red one is parked next to the dumpster, maybe they were throwing it away.

Now the black one is pretty cool looking.

Yeah the black one is quite awsome. Would make a fun toy for sure. Maybe if the red one had the appropriate lift, rims & tires, axles, and suspension to go along with the roll bar maybe it wouldn't look so hideous. Just looks too clownish on stock rims and tires.

So an exo is a requirement for that trail?

I understand how an exo works...I just don't understand why a standard interior cage isn't good enough for a lot of the XJ crowd. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that they're unibodies, but I don't know that for sure. I'd love to build an XJ and wheel the snot out of it. I definitely wouldn't go the exo route though. But that's just me...

The hardcore rock crawling guys who run cherokees and grand cherokees like the cages alot but most (like 95%+) don't bother as it's just not needed for the mild to moderate-difficult wheeling most Jeepers do.

Are they unibody? I coulda sworn I seen one with a body lift but I could be way wrong.

Yeah.. the gc's and cherokee's are unibody's.. No body lifts. The doors however are not apart of the strength of the unibody so going doorless wont hurt it. That being said adding a interior or exterior cage to any unibody 4x4 does help overall body strength to a good extent thus being as popular as they are for the really hardcore rock guys who run them. Of course heavy duty cages are used on framed 4x4's as well for both strenthing and protection
