I say you should have disconnected the swaybar and sat in the Jeep... would've been a fun ride

3.7?

It didn't knock your teacup off the table did it?

I had to look up where you are to see if that was "normal".

Yeah, its was only about three seconds long, but we have one to three that size or bigger a year here.

I've always wondered about this, but how does an earthquake feel when you are driving on the freeway? Like does everyone just slow down, or do you have to swerve?
Does it create a bunch of accidents?

Depends on the magnitude. I was living there when the Loma Preata hit. Talk about a wild ride. Literal E ticket.

Definitely depends on the magnitude. I was here for the Loma Prieta too, worked in a 7 story office building in Walnut Creek. I was in the interior hallway, and I could watch the hallway go out of square one way, and then the other. VERY weird. Had a friend on 680 who didn't notice and kept driving, she kept wondering why all the other cars were pulling over and stopping.

I lived in California for close to 2 years total and never felt a thing. I had to vacation in Afghanistan before I felt my first earthquake. It was a 6.4, centered on Ghardez. Good times.

I had felt some small tremors before, but when I went on vacation to Tokyo I felt my first real earthquake. I woke up one morning thinking "What the hell is shaking my bed??"... and then I thought, Hmmm... the whole room should not be shaking either...

Turns out it was a 4.9 centered not too far off the coast to the east. Was actually kinda cool though, Tokyo is pretty well built for that stuff
