ebay SUCKS!

I'm really starting to get pissed at ebay, I made an account for one reason... to possibly buy jeep parts if I found what I was looking for. (btw I haven't bought or sold anything) So back in September I got an email...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear vaultzz:

You are late in paying your eBay fees of $5.08 and your account for user vaultzz is past due. These fees result from listing items on eBay or using related services.

This account has been restricted and you will not be able to bid or list on eBay. To avoid further collections please pay your fees today by following these steps:

1. Log on to eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
2. Click the My eBay tab at the top of the page and sign in
3. Click on the "Account" tab and then "View Invoices" to check your account status or the "one-time" payment link to make a one-time payment.

If you do not have access to your account or prefer not to pay online, please mail your payment with your payment coupon or a copy of this notice to the address below and clearly state your account ID (*************) on the check.

eBay, Inc.
P.O. Box 2179
Carol Stream, IL 60132-2179
United States

If we do not receive your payment, your account may be suspended and additional collections remedies may be used to bring this account to current. All current listings will be ended and you will no longer be part of the eBay community.

If this past due balance is the only reason for restricting your account, it will be reopened for bidding and listing when your full payment is received. Your account will continue to be charged a late payment finance charge of up to 1.5% of your past due amount.

If you have already paid your eBay fees, please disregard this message.

Thank you,

eBay Global Collections
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I continue to get these annoying emails!

Wtf is this? I've been trying to contact them forever with no luck...

x2!! ebay does not charge you unless you post a listing or WIN an item. this is most likely a fake email that is trying to steal you info. you need to address this quickly to prevent problems.

Sorry about your luck, guy. I love eBay. I've used it to buy and sell a ton of things. So far, (knock on wood) I haven't had a single issue with eBay or any of its sellers/buyers.

It's already been posted that eBay doesn't charge for an account unless you win or list an item, so hopefully you didn't pay.

I don't have an ebay account. I hardly ever us use ebay. If I do want something off there I get a friend to buy it once I give them the money.

You need to check your ebay messages before anything, they do not send emails like that & unless there is a copy in your ebay inbox, it is fake.
I had an ebay business & went on one morning to check my bids, there were a heap of high end high priced things in my account for auction. Ebay were good & got rid of them & did not charge me a cent.
To this day I still get emails from people asking questions about non existing items,I wish Ebay would get it right & sort it out because their system is easily tapped into by hackers

Where there's a will there's a way.

Sadly ebay is a large target by criminals, as its easy to make a lot of money fast by ripping others off. The internet in general is a massive market for thieves, but ebay is like a shopping mall for shop lifters, you can hit a bunch of places fast and disappear.

The anti-hackers working for ebay must be a busy bunch.

I've used ebay a lot in the past, and had very good luck...I've known others with less good luck.

I had one time on a forum where I sold a pair of catalytic converters to a guy...he paid via paypal (as we both thought it was a safe venue). and then 6 months later paypal tells me they are charging me the money plus a service charge. apparently the paypal acct was his g/f's and they had split up. so she pulled chargebacks on everything he'd bought in the past year. Some other guys on that forum tracked him down for me, and he western union'd me the money. so I could pay paypal back. I won't ever accept paypal again for a non-ebay item. they just don't protect you at all. I guess it'll be "mail me a check, and I'll wait for it to clear"...or cash in person.

NEVER click on a link in a suspicious e mail,Go to eBay by typing it in your browser or from your bookmarks/favorites thief's are going to all measures to get your info,Like I said earlier forward all suspicious e mails to spoof@ebay.com they will eventually reply as to it being a fake or not,To have incurred fees you would have had to have sold/listed a item no fees for buying

Did you read his previous post with a picture of his eBay account.

The messages he is getting are legit and they ARE from eBay and his account reflects this. Attention to detail people. Don't just jump on the spoof bandwagon because you've had them before and know what to do. You'll steer him wrong. Yes it is good advice to forward messages you think are fake to eBay but look closely at the message first and investigate a little. There are a number of tell tale signs of a spoof email. They don't call you by your full name and/or eBay user name and I have never seen one with specific dollar amounts in it. It appears that someone has hacked his account and racked up a few fees. It will be hard to prove and you might be better off paying it or starting a new account with a different email address.

Time to change the password to something a little more cryptic. At least 2 of each of these, letters(upper and lower case), numbers, and special characters and at least 8 characters long.

Example: sportutility vs $P0rtUt!1!y
That is a zero not an O.

Sorry this happened to you.

Yes, looks like you are right, I couldn't read it & didn't realise it could be enlarged
But, if there has never been any charges incurred then it is messed up somehow, usually they won't do an account without a visa on record so they can just take out fees so how did the account go through without a visa? Ebay wouldn't do it without my visa details, I guess to safeguard themselves.

My password should be pretty hard to hack, its 9 digits long and consists of numbers and letters, i also doesn't say anything at all, its just a combination of stuff that I seem to be able to remember

LOL!!! I just got another spoof PayPal email. So I clicked the link and typed some fake information for the owner of the site to read later.

Only I didn't use the *, @, $ as you see below.

Email: yousuckd*ck@yourad*cksucker.cum
password: yoursiteissofake

Then it logged me into enter my credit card information so I filled in the form and submitted it.

Credit Card #: suckit@$$clown
Bank Name: yourmomwasgreat
CCV: @$$

So anyways, I was just curious if you were able to resolve the issue with eBay or not.
