very interesting read. it sounds like this woman had quite an interesting trip and it sounds like she is incredibly good at what she does. i am medically trained, but i don't know if i could have keep my cool in the situations that she described. especially the one with the cops with machine guns.

Really takes some strong willed people to go to third world countries to render aide and deal with those kinds of situations. Kinda reminds me of the Episode of ER where Dr. Luka Kovac goes to Africa to help and the rebels capture them. Not real, but that kind of stuff can happen in a War zone. Throw in a language barrier and it gets even worse...

Sad to think that people feel we have it bad here in the US.
