enjoy the little things

I went to the grocery store to get something for dinner tonight. as im walking out a family had just pulled into the space in front of my tj. the little boy (couldn't be older than 4) looks at his parents exclaiming"look mommy look daddy, that jeeps just like mine!" he points to the small blue matchbox jeep in his hands. by this time I was loading my groceries, and looked down at the little boy all bundled up in several coats, it reminded me of being a child so I couldn't help but smile. "do you like my jeep son?" I asked the child. "yes yes, its my favorite ive got a toy just like it!" he said very excitedly. "his mom almost seeming shocked told the boy not to bother me. I said it was no bother at all and asked if they had a camera. the father produced his cell phone with a quizical look on his wifes face. "well son how would you like a picture sitting on my jeep holding your favorite toy?" I asked the child. his face now glowing "really that would be so cool please mommy please please?" he pleaded with his mother who couldn't help but smile now. we lifted the lad up onto the hood, he sat like a king holding his toy up high as his father snapped a picture. "what do you say now?" his mother quizzed him. "thank you thank you thank you Mr. jeep man. thank you so much!" the boy was now thrilled and I felt like his hero. "thank you, for putting a smile on my face that wont go away all day." I drove home with the biggest grin.

its the little things that matter.

This story gave me the biggest smile i have seen in ages. I used to play with those toy jeeps and You remind me of a man who let me sit in his jeep when i was at the city park when i was 7. I will never forget him or his jeep. You sir, have just giving all the inspiration that little boy needs to becoming a jeeper himself. Good job!

We both started in a YJ. The mans jeep was a customed camo painted YJ, the best lookin' jeep i have ever seen.

I have had that same type of experience with my Vettes...haven't had the Jeep long enough yet...gotta keep the tradition going with the young enthusiasts

I like when the kids ride by on their bikes and say "Nice car!" haven't seen them yet since I got the TJ

Great story and def made that kid's day, and from the sounds of it yours too. Nice to hear there are still good people in the world.
