Exclamation Everyone Read!!!

PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR FILL UP ON THE 6TH OF SEPTEMBER 2005 (TODAY) AND NO GAS ON THE 7TH, 8TH, OR 9TH 2005

TIRED OF THE GAS PRICES?? Let's all stand up and make a statement - we won't pay these prices.

Please fill up on the 6th of September 2005 and don't buy gas on the 7th, 8th or 9th. Have a great week!

Years back on April 30,1999 a gas-out was staged across Canada and the U.S. to bring the price of gas down, and it worked. It's time to do something again. Only this time lets make it for three days instead of just one. The so-called oil cartel decided to slow production to drive up gasoline prices.

Let's see how many people we can get to band together for a three-day period in September, NOT TO BUY ANY GASOLINE, during those three days. LETS HAVE A GAS OUT----September 7th, 2005 TO September 9th, 2005. Buy what you need before these dates-- or after-- but none during this time period. If you want to help, just send this to everyone you know and ask them to do the same. We brought the prices down once before, and we can do it again. Come on everyone lets stand together to make a difference!

This has been proven not to work... Think about it. If you don't buy gas for the next 3 days, what is EVERYONE going to have to do in 4 days (me sooner, because I can't go 3 days without filling my tank)? Buy gas. And if everyone needs gas on the same day, but the previous days haven't purchased any, you will see either shortages (because everyone needs gas at once) or gas price INCREASES to prevent shortages. It is the law of supply and demand. And just as an aside... The fact that there is a gas cartel means that they can do whatever they want, and we just get to grin and bear it until an alternative fuel source is developed and implemented... So while it may seem like a good idea, you are just inconveniencing yourself and possibly the individual store owners, but the oil "cartel" won't even know you did it, or could respond by decreasing production based on a slump in short-term sales. Good luck!

Two things.

1. I use about a tank and a half every single day for work. No way I can do it.

2. I live in Mississippi. It's just now getting to where you don't have to sit in line for 6 hours to get gas down here. I may just fill up every time I see a pump open from now on!

Are things starting to get better yet? Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel? Or still no idea when you will have the basics back?

Everything is back to business as usual for me now. Many others aren't so lucky. I know several people that lost everything. I suspect that at least one member of this forum got hit very hard. I haven't heard from him at all.

Here's to hoping!!

Yeah, we are definitely hoping that isn't the case.

And don't know about you all back east, but gas here in AZ is starting to subside a little. Station that was at 3.09 earlier in the week is now 2.99. Still hurts, but not quite as much.

Which member? Maybe we can hit up some local vendors for parts to auction... Pirate is doing this for one of the members that lost everything but his family. Do we have the resources to do this? This may be a good time to add a vendor section (possibly a pay service, similar to pirate). I can't think of a better reason/cause to add that section...

What member? We as a forum can take action to help as jeeperman suggests. Also I have no problem doing some footwork for the cause.

Well, he's inactive to the forum but is a member. I've only talked to him via email once or twice. I don't have email address now.

The member ID is trulefty. He hasn't come back to the forum, but I thought he would. I was concerned he took a hit. He's never revisited since he signed up though. I wish I didn't always delete emails. I'd have a name then.
