GPS Essentials, Footprints (HTC EVO), and there is one for the iPhone that was killer. I think it was MotionX. It was closely related to military maps/use, and had terrain elevation, contour lines, route travelled, distance travelled etc. It was awesome, but not available for Sprint EVO.

Any "must have" suggestions?

One very cool app I just installed this morning is PdaNet which allows a laptop to connect to the Internet via the cellular system when there is no WAN available. Be careful though, it uses lots of data so make sure you have the unlimited data plan.

Even with unlimited you still better watch out. Carriers get mad when you use more than about 5gb of data. After that they get suspicious of tethering and have been known to charge ridiculous fees, throttle your connection, or plain cut you off.

Ooohhh good to know, I'll tell the wife to not overuse it. She's a realtor and just wanted to be able to use her laptop when she's doing an Open House where she doesn't normally have access to the Internet. I won't be using it myself. Thanks!
