Other than weather updates (last night we thought we might get an unseasonable frost, and I had to go cover 1/2 acre of garden and about 5 20' tall hops plants - of course it didn't freeze, but if I hadn't covered the garden it would have), I can't say I miss it at all.

Oh hell, I think I have all the books already, my reading list is insane but B&N loves me. Bookshelves are next on the list.

I got tired of having bookshelves in every room and hallways of the house (including bathrooms) and bought an Amazon Kindle ebook reader - which was good and bad, because I went from reading maybe 5-8 books a month to 4-5 a week. Fortunately there are a ton of sites to pick up (legal) free out-of-copyright books, so my $$$ haven't gone up a lot, but books are still my major expense.

Although Jeep parts are catching up, especially with the rebuilt transmission this month...

I had one of those, but I just don't like them. There's something about actually holding a book in my hands (and eventually it'll have my name on the cover). I've become a bit of a nut about the format too. I like the large paperbacks that lay open in your hands.

I'd prefer the physical book, too, but when we moved last year I did a strict purging of my bookshelves and we still moved something like 40 BOXES of books. I can't keep that kind of collection up, so the "rule" is - only reference books and true keepers that will be read over and over are kept, and the rest are either electronic or read and recycled.

I also love having that many books on me at any given time. I've got probably 200 on the device and another 200-300 on the computer, so there's always something to read in one light little package, no matter where I find myself stuck.

I think there's a website for people who buy, sell, and trade books online. Can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I usually donate mine to the DAV when I get a pile of 'em.

TV's have taken control of my home. LCD in the bedroom. 32" HD CRT Sanyo in the sunroom. 50" Hitachi Plasma in the living room. DirecTV HD package I had a Mitsubishi 57" DLP in the lr but I took it back and downsized. I liked the plasma better. It doesn't help that I work for a furniture/appliance and television place.

Jeeze, Jeeper, that's a lot of TV. We have one and I don't think I want one in the bedroom. But damn I can't wait to watch some football, I just need to learn the stupid channels.

He wasn't always an evil monkey... lol For years we had one fuzzy channel with a 75 foot antenna outside. I'm making up. But let me tell ya, watching Football in that resolution is almost a religious experience. lol

We just got in some Toshiba 32" LCD's with pc hookups at the store, so I'm thinking of upgrading my computer monitor now. lol
