Finally got physical custody of my son

Just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am now. I got physical custody of my 9 year old son on Jan.1st. I have been telling his mother that he would be better off with me. She finally agreed on it and me and my son are buying a new house on feb.11th. She sees him every other weekend now. He grades have improved and his teacher said he is a totally different kid now. He pays attention in class and he behaves so much better. I have been praying for this for a long time and I finally got this. Me and his mother have been split for 7 years. And I pay no more child support. She pays me now. God does answer prayers :-))))))

Thanks man. That was very nice :-) I'm the youngest of five kids and my brother also has custody of his child full time. We are like best friends also. I guess that's why we get along so well.

I am happy for you. My ex is a super b---- and thinks she is the smartest and best person in the world. It makes me sick when my son has to go back to her house for her time. She is with her, I forget how many, boyfriend and he is a little crapper too and he lives in her house with her. She always has a mooch for a pathetic boyfriend who brings nothing to the table. It is not right but at least my son gets straight A's and is a good kid. I spent a small fortune a attorneys to try and get him away from that crap but good old California law still makes me pay that bitch.

Congratulations. I'm not trying to get in your business, it's just that you wrote something that you need to be careful of. Many parent's fall into the "friends" trap. Never forget that first and foremost you are the parent and that at times you will have to make difficult and unpopular decisions that ultimately are in his best interest.

Oh lol.... When I was talking about best friends is was meaning my brother... But you are absolutley correct about that also. Me and my son do hang out alot and I love the bond we have now. I have friends that are older then me and they have kids that are teenagers and I see the kids being so mean and disrespectful to there parents. I don't want my son to be like that, nobody does. I will try to do my best to allways keep a friendship with him to were he can talk to me about anything. I was pretty bad when I was younger and I understand peer pressure is that hardest thing to avoid. But I also want him to know that I AM is father and I will try to help him make the best decisions in life. He loves my jeep, and when he gets a little older I want to buy a old beat up jeep and totally restore it with him. Maybe a 4 or 5 year slow project. If his attitude stays as good as it is now he may end up with the jeep.
