Firearm Thread

I know there's a good amount of us Jeepers that are in to guns as well. Hell, one of the main reasons I own a Jeep is so I can get back to some of my hunting and shooting spots. Figured we could have a thread about our other toys. So post up some pics, talk about your spots, link some hot deals, talk about training, gear, your cousin that shot his big toe off while resting a 30-06 barrel on his boot (yup, got me one of those lol). Anything gun related. Just keep take the anti-talk elsewhere. I'm no tree hugger either.....unless I'm about to fall off my stand.

A recent purchase. Something fun while I'm not blowing through .45ACP all day.

I carry a Springfield "Loaded" 1911

My wife carries a Desert Eagle 1911 (yes, they make one, and it rocks!)

My Duty side arm was a Glock 20 and is now retired to Defending the homestead and blasting occasional ventilation in paper evil-doers.

Winchester 1300 if'n I gotta correct someones attitude before I've had enough coffee to aim.

Spriengfiled "Loaded" M1A if I see em coming a day in advance.

Contemplating somthing on a AR format if I ever get money that needs to be blown on something other than my JEEP.

I have a Glock 26 that will be my conceal-carry weapon in a few months when I turn 21. A Ruger 10-22 that is too much fun to shoot. And my most recent purchase, a Remington 870 Express 12 Gauge. Heading out to the desert with friends for some shooting on Friday.

I carry a Ruger Sp101. Sorry no pic right now. Its a great revolver and I put a hougue grip on it that improves aim. It eats .357 and .38 . I like to carry it with .38 unless Im in wooded areas which get the .357. I use it for home protection as well, because i can be armed and loaded in about 4 seconds.
A Jeep owner shopping at the mall with a concealed Ruger.... Gives a new kind of respect to the term "mall-crawler".

I have a few. Too lazy to post all the pics.

Wish prices would go back to 1995. I miss the 7.62 battlepacks for $25.

I carry a Dan Wesson CBOB .45. No pic of it right now, though she's no looker. 5 years of holster wear on a clarks carry melt haven't done it justice. Here's a few I do have pics of. Some of my recent pieces and builds:

SA G.I. w/ Wilson FLGR, Wilson MSH, Wilson lightweight match trigger/sear/disconnector and Hogue grips. Gonna have the port lowered and flared and a beavertail added.

Mega lower, BCM upper, LMT LPK, Daniel CHF barrel, BCM gunfighter CH, Daniel BCG, Hogue grip, Spikes H2 buffer. Cheap arse red dot for now. Work in progress.

MAK90 I picked up a few months ago. Waiting on an Ironwood stock set for it. Have all the other 922r parts for the conversion.

Ricco, Ive never seen grips like that on the front of an AR mag-well. Seems like that would be awesome for doing the "groucho" during tactical entries. But the BBL is too long for that. Source?

A VA State Trooper stopped a fellow Jeeper recently. As the trooper was checking his drivers license, he noticed that he held a concealed carry permit. The trooper asked him, "Are you carrying any guns with you today?" He answered, "Yes, Sir. I have a 45 Smith & Wesson in the glove compartment, a 357 Magnum in the console, a 30-06 behind the seat and a 38-Special on my side." Shaking his head, the trooper said, "Mr, what are you so scared of?" With a straight face the man replies....NOT A DAMN THING!!!.

Yay! We got a girl to chime in! wooo Hoo...

But apparently we arent original enough to be interesting....

Hmmm...

Ok, how bout this:

I wanna put a 2" lift with 35" Mud Terrains and a cold-air intake on my .45. I was gonna do some off-road lights on it but decided to go with HID lighting to suppliment my laser scope which is where I mount my CB.

My uncle is the head gunsmith in the Springfield Custom department. He built me a 1911 ,with tons of upgrades, and my wife a XDm 9mm. Also have a Remington 870 express and 1100.

Think he can still get ahold of a new Springfield MicroCompact 1911? Like an idiot I sold mine to my little brother years ago and haven't had much luck finding a replacement. That was one sweet piece!

Not a fan of the new XD's...

Here is my "feeble" collection...I started off recently, but am building slowly....stupid NJ and no CCW...

Glock 19 for HD....I'm surgical with it....

Pardon the trigger discipline...firearm was unloaded, and I was using my iphone to snap the pic, and wasn't paying attention like I should have...

My plinker....Sig Sauer Mosquito...love this thing to death. Fun as hell to shoot.

My "boss" pistol
Sig Sauer p220 Elite Match .45

Extremely well balanced weapon, but very heavy.

Wife was going to buy me a Wilson 1911 for my 30th birthday, but I got the JK instead.

Next on the list is an HK USP or a 45, not sure yet...that decision is harder than picking out a bumper

It's a Fab Defense MWG. 2 piece that clamps on to the mag well. Works pretty good, solid and also doubles as a mag well funnel. And, you're right, it is better on a 12.5" barreled upper.

Foregrips FAB Defense Weapon Accessories

I've got an assortment. When I finish my Taurus "Punisher Edition" 1911, I'll post pictures. I have the new .45ACP slide and mags and most of the internals ready to go. Just waiting for my new grips and skeleton key trigger.

Here's my milled Hungarian wood stock AK, hanging in my living room:

I have my dad's old Mark1 Desert Eagle, a few SKS variants, a Polish P64 pistol, several Glocks, etc... but nothing really makes me as happy as my old wood stock AK and my original Colt 1911 that I bought on my 21st birthday.

Nice AK, but it's not milled. You sure it's not romanian? The only hungarian AK's, built and parts kits, I'm aware of coming in to the U.S. were for the AMD65. Neither of which have a side plate for optics mount.

Hey Riccochet - The side plate was an aftermarket addition as I often swap out either a mid range optical scope or an ACOG scope. As for milled and Hungarian, my receipt from the pawn shop (and this could be totally wrong as it was from a pawn shop) reads: "Rifle, AK-47, Hungary, Milled, 7.62/39, Wood, w/magazine".

I always took that for truth but it's entirely possible I'm wrong about it. What I know for sure is that it is a blast to fire.

Just a reminder that you're all posting photos of your firearms to a public forum, from a public photo sharing site (Photobucket, etc...). Do you all REALLY want to let the world know what you've got in your gunsafe? Don't get me wrong, I love weapons (those of you who know me already know that), and I love looking at other people's collections, but I've long since stopped posting pics of my almost monthly gun acquisitions to the site. Some things are just better left unwritten...at least that's my line of thinking. OPSEC is a dying concept in the gun community, but not in my household.

Carry on.

Dont expose what you cant defend.

I dont hide or flaunt.

If someone wants something I have....I guarantee that they will earn it. (wink)

Havent seen any addresses posted or photos wide enough for even expert photo analysts to discern specific locations. No license plates. No serial Numbers. No DNA sequences.

Resonable precautions...not paranoia.

But I agree....ALWAYS post with a conscious understanding that not all who visit are good-natured.

It's all good. If someone wants to pay me an illegal visit I hope they bring beer. At least I'll have something to drink while I wait for the body to be removed.

No, I'm not some internet tough guy. Just an old marine that keeps up with his training.

All anyone needs is a good understanding of how computers work to get enough information about you and where you live. Unless you only post from a public computer, a person can trace your ISP number to your physical address. And a thief worth his salt CAN get your things, regardless of how well you think you can defend your home. I'm not busting anyone's balls, I promise. I just want people to be aware of how OPSEC works and how easy it is for a motivated person to track you down and take your things.

Unless you plan on posting guard at your house 24/7, a motivated, intelligent thief can still deprive you of your belongings regardless of how well you think you've been trained. You know about OPSEC, as a former marine. I'm just a firm believer that the public doesn't need to know what I have in my gun safes.

And again, I'm not trying to be a jerk or call anyone out...please don't look at it like that. It just needs to be said that when pictures of people's weapon collections are posted, they are posted at the forum user's own risk. That's all I'm saying.

Case in point...I work (on call) for a contractor hired by the state that tracks people down when they have delinquent taxes or owe the state money. (Nothing major...stuff the Feds won't deal with). We were contracted to track down this fella who owed the state a decent sum of unpaid taxes, but he went invisible. We found out he was a sports car nut and that he was a member of a Corvette forum. Long story short, we found out where he was through his ISP and now we have all his stuff and he's answering to the authorities.
