For the gun guys/gals here

Just an interesting mail forward, but fairly true
might be a repost

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.

Gun laws only hurt law abiding citizens, plain and simple. People who commit crimes obviously have no qualms about breaking the law, so why do governments think making more laws will fix it? It just makes us as citizens more vulnerable.

There is a serious lack of common sense in the world today, and the majority is in our governments, and that scares the hell out of me.

I think any individual that owns a firearm, and supports RKBA, already knows that when you take our RKBA, crime goes up. Look at my state, MD. The worst homicide rate in the country (in baltimore) because no one is allowed to defend themself, and these african american "Gangsters" get free rain over the city.

see the thought behind it is if people can't defend themselves then they are easier for everyone to deal with. I would like to see someone come to my home and tell me sir you can no longer have a firearm. they may get them in the cities but us country folk will find ways to keep them out of sight until there needed

If they come in my house, then I'll just have to face the jury I guess. If not, then I'll drag their dead carcass in and say he tripped and his gun went off.

I fully agree with you fella's. Our country was built on the premise that it's citizens have the right to protect and defend themselves from harm. Whether it be from the government or from a third party trying to harm us or our families. And I will be damned when the day rolls by that someone tries to tell me I can't own my firearms.

State's rights my ass. The 2nd Amendment tells me I have the right to keep firearms and I'm going to do it. I just happen to live in a state that still believes in the right to carry. However at times we do have to defend our right and defend it we do.

Yeah, you all have it pretty bad out there if I remember rightly. I think you and I had some conversations about the fact that the NRA won't even fight for you all in MD anymore.

Don't underestimate the people in this country who want to turn it into a fascist regime.

I think it would be more like, citizens vs. government... which is scary considering what the government has... although I imagine some of the military would side with the citizens.. I dunno, it is sort of a scary scenario... I just really pray it never gets to that.

This went a little off topic haha, so back to the topic... don't take my guns!

lol, don't worry, most people who love JEEPs, love FREEDOM. In this day and age, that pretty much makes you either Conservative or Libertarian. As much as the Left "says" They are for conserving, just look at their history. "Don't cut down trees or clear the brush"= Huge wildfires. Other side: Let's manage our natural resources, so we can use them to their fullest. Ie., Ducks Unlimited, Tread Lightly, etc. I just wish that people who used their brains had the passion of the Juvenile Left!

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question:
You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.
You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

.................................................. .
Democrat's Answer:
Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor! Or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him
that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away? What does my wife
think? What about the kids? What does the law say about this situation?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? Should I call 9-1-1?
Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage
such behavior.
.................................................. ..
Republican's Answer:

BANG!
.................................................. ..

Southerner's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Click..... (Sounds of reloading)
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Click

Sorry, I don't care for Glocks, picked up a couple and didn't care for the ergonomics, haven't looked since so i don't know their specs.
