For those looking for cheap on board air...

Just came from harbor Frieght and they have on sale a nice little air compressor kit marked down to $59 from $79 and for $10 you get an additional 2yr warrenty on top of the usual 90 day. I picked one up so I don't have to keep mooching of everyone else after trail rides to re-inflate. But it seems like a decent deal esp since they are local and if it sh#%* the bed you can just bring it back.

Heh Heh, thats not OBA, thats a portable air compressor !!

What good will the warranty do you when your 100 miles off-road ??

I think it would be a good BACKUP COMPRESSOR !!

Hey its a source of compressed air that I will keep on board in my Jeep. Thus on board air

But quite a few of the people I go wheeling with have tanks to run air tools or deal with punctured tires. Only use I really bought this for was to re-inflate after getting off the trail so that I dont have to drive to find the nearest gas station or be "that guy" that has to keep borrowing other peoples mini compressors to air up. I dont have very high expectations out of it but it sure beats spending $25 more for one off of Quadratec or 4wd just to have to ship it out once it does fry.

You know what else Harbor Freight has is cheap winches. I'm not saying they compare to Warns, but the 8,000lb one has actually gotten some pretty decent reviews and HF does cover their stuff pretty well when it breaks.

JP, how quickly does it reinflate your tires.

I love buying crap @ HF...and have looked at those compressors a time or 4.

They have a pretty nice toolbox (like 400.00 - thick steel, red PC finish, ball bearing drawers, fantastic reviews all over the net)

I have one that I carry behind the seat in my Jeep.
It's not fast, but it's a whole lot better than nothing.
Have only used it to air up a buddy's tire one time and it did the job just fine.

Usually when we go we either air back up at the park or waitl till we get home. Ajax doesn't care if the tires are low while he's riding on the trailer

I bought the Master Flow MF 1050 for around $55 and it is great. Comes in a carry bag with the fittings and hose. Pumps up my 31 inch from 15lbs to 27lbs in about 2 minutes or less.

How does the Master Flow air compressor get its power? Is it a 12-volt system that clips onto the Jeep's battery? Or does it come with its own internal battery, like the small Campbell Hausfeld portable compressors that have a sealed lead acid battery.

It connects to the vehicles battery.
