Ford add up top.

So, they give you 4500 bucks for whatever heap you bring in and send you away with an economical car and nice new car payment instead???? I'd rather not have the dept, more money for gas. prolly be a lot of people who can't afford car payments taking their junk in.

Yeah, the junkers program is advertised all over the DMV too. It may work for some, but won't be beneficial for many. And considering the state and the fed governments have no money, their junker program just seems like another drain added to the money well.

I have to agree with you Tiny. More govt handouts with no way to recover the money. Just the "feeling" you did something good for the environment and got a car payment to boot.

Most people I know that switch to "economy" cars just drive more now that they can go farther on a tank of gas

I wish they had this deal before I got rid of my '90 Bronco and '78 Pick up and bought my 2004 "new" Expedition a few years ago.... I would have loved to get $4,500 in tax incentive....

Just for the record, I donated them both to the "Association for the Blind" and took (2) $500 tax deductions.

There are VERY specific rules so the odds of actually getting the full $4,500 are slim and you must purchase certain vehicles to even get the credit.

x2.

The funny thing is the "program" is just as confusing as a car dealers ad. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Obama is now a car salesman.
