Just got this email yesterday, following the TEA parties. It pissed me off at first, than made me giggle a little. Anyone who looks at the numbers of people that watch these programs (Fox, CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CBS etc.) knows full well that Fox destroys everyone in ratings. Looks like we are starting to make some headway, if we have political organizations in an uproar with no elections coming up (Yes, Care2 is a political organization. I got multiple emails from them during election time about left leaning politicians running for office). Anywhere, here is the email.
Fox News has crossed the line. For news coverage to be "fair and balanced," there has to be a clear boundary between legitimate commentary and demagoguery. Tell Fox News to denounce the increasingly outrageous rhetoric »
Several recent actions on Fox News demonstrate that the network is contributing to a culture of conservative paranoia. For example, since launching his Fox News show, Glenn Beck has engaged in increasingly outrageous rhetoric – from imitating President Obama pouring gasoline onto the "average American" to mocking Obama's aunt's "limp."
And Beck and Fox News have engaged in anti-Obama political activism through their aggressive promotion of yesterday's "tea party protests," which the network has portrayed as a response to Obama's fiscal policies.
In the past, Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace has criticized his colleagues when they have undermined his network's credibility. If Wallace wants to repair the damage done to his network's credibility, he needs to speak out now.
Please sign the petition to Wallace today. Your signature, along with tens of thousands of other signatures – will be delivered to Fox News headquarters this Friday.
Thanks for taking action!
