My english bulldog had bumped his big front lower fang tooth and it caused the pulp to swell which cut off blood to the tooth and the tooth died and became absist. He couldn't eat breakfast for enjoy a treat. Very painful cuz I've had an absist tooth molar and it was worst pain I've ever had.
So, we hooked up with the Aid Animal Dental Clinic and Dr Visser who does all the Phoenix Zoo big cats and animals to see about a root canal for my friend Frank Bullitt.
That photo is taken from their website and is obviously not my Bullitt. lol. Here is the clinics website where you can see some of the other animals they work on
It is better to do a root canal than an extraction when its a major tooth. Doing a root canal helps maintain the bite and prevents gum infection. It was all explained to me but alot of it went over my head.
There was a weird looking wolf with a broken jaw being operated on when we arrived and we took some photos of it. It didn't look like any wolf I had seen but was cool. It was all very professional with EKG and a bunch of other expensive eqpt to monitor his breathing, heart and stuff.
My camera ran out of batteries after taking about 200 pics. The nurse was taking pictures so I'll be able to post those later. They are more detailed and close ups of the mouth and teeth. Over $2200 for this root canal and crown/cap but it is money well spent. lol.
He goes back in 2 weeks for the gold crown. seriously. My dog is going to have grillz yo.
here are the photos from our trip to the dentist:
