Frisbee Dog Round Two

Rain and I went out for another play day with a Dsic Dog club at the park. I brought my video camera today and got some footage. It is not real good as video taping the dog is lot different then the jeeps I am used to, but they will get better.
Rain is having a lot of fun we won our first competion last week (small group of 10 dogs) and we will be helping to put on a demonstration at a Dog Rescue Event in July. He is doing very well.

He will start to jump off my back in a couple months but I do not want him to vault that high until he is 18 months old.

Rain Video (short)

Sweetness! Wish I had a dog that would even bring back the ball when you throw it

How long did it take to get him to do that kind of stuff?

I have not even had him for a year at this point. He picked up chasing the frisbee pretty quick and we are both learning quickly now that we got invovled in a local club. He learns quick and some of his limitaions at this point are the guy throwing the disc

That's cool as hell. My first dog loved frisbees. I had to use two though because she wouldn't bring the first one back until she saw the second one.

Just saw that on Ripley's, Believe it, or not. The dog won the most amazing animal act, by catching the most frisbees, within so much time. That is so awesome to watch. Looks like you have a good chance of winning some trophies with Rain. WTG!!!!

They are having fund raiser and we will put on a disc dog demostration to entertain the people that are there.

Thanks for the comments everyone this is the first dog I have had that would chase the frisbee. Storm my last dog loved the tennis ball but would have nothing to do with the disc. It is kind of fun to go to the park and see a crowd gather.

Also, how did you train him to jump off your back?

To be honest Rain is very smart all I had to do was bend over and hold up the frisbee and he did the rest. In a couple months I will start to flip the frisbee in the air when he hits my back and he will jump up from my back like a vault. I have light scub vest to put under my shirt for then to keep the skin on my back.
Once you learn the tricks (which I am still learning) these dogs are very smart and train quickly.

Rain is 38# and 21" tall at the shoulders. I had to measure as we also just joined a Dock Diving club. I sure hope he can swim

That's so cool. Good dog.

One of my old dogs would chase something I threw 3 times & bring it back, after that it was "come & get it - catch me if you can". Tennis ball in the mouth & devilish look in the eye, how can you beat that.

I asked Joe @ Absolute to get out of bed early today to run the camera at the park. Rain is doing well and learning more tricks and Joe did a great job with the camera.
BTW I should have the jeep running soon so I can go back to posting Jeep videos along with the dog videos

Nice video. It's great to see a dog so happy. I like how when she slows down a bit you ask her if she's done and she's right back into it.
