Gas lines?

I wonder if I've seen the beginnings of gas lines today. I was on my way back home from Jeep maintenance when I decided to get gas. Several stations were posting $3.75-3.83 for regular unleaded, so I went to the station nearby where I live, and it was 3.57, so I filled up on that. There were two lines, so I got in line. Two of the four pumps were already out. I filled up to the top in case something bad goes down this week.

It's inching up to $4 and winter is not even over yet.

Our gas prices range from $3.53-$3.87 for regular gas, within a five-mile radius, just last week. Now it's pretty uniformly $3.89. The Sheetz stations around here usually have lines two deep, on all of the pumps, when the price is lowest. I should've bought some empty containers and filled those up when it was $3.53.

Same here in Ohio. I had to put $20 in this morning which usually gets me about half a tank. Not this time. This possibly could have been prevented if Obama would have allowed the pipeline to come down from Canada.

No. It would not have helped. Your dollar is the problem. In 2000, an ounce of gold could buy you around 153 gallons of gas. Today, it would get you over 480 gallons of gas. So, gasoline is actually the cheapest it's been this century in gold terms. And that's with gold not even priced at a fair market value compared to the dollar. Same story with silver.

The pumps are crowded because people are topping off whenever then can since prices are rising. It just makes sense.
