Get a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee (ZJ)

I'm looking into buying another Jeep for my daily/highway driver as my TJ isn't the best for MPG. In the near future this will have to be a family vehicle.
Now I'm just trying to decide if I want a cherokee or Grand Cherokee (ZJ), I've had a ZJ in the past and loved it.

Anyone have any input to sway a decision?

I loved my ZJ too, but your TJ would have to be a real gas pig for the ZJ to do any better. If you need it to be a family vehicle, go ZJ just because its bigger than the XJ

I had a 95 zj got at best 23ish. Once I lifted it, about 13-15. I miss her so bad. Loved the way she looked lifted. One bad ass looking rig. But I love my tj. I always think about getting another one but who knows.

I never got more than 20 in my XJ, and it was 2wd. I could see buying a 4wd XJ one day just to have it, or a 5.9 ZJ, but I wouldn't buy either for the purpose of saving gas...
