gilligan's island... rife with inconsistency

That's right. Gilligan's Island was RIFE with it. Just RIFE. From Ginger's everlasting hairspray to the Professor's inability to fix a boat while able to create a bamboo radio. Where'd they get all the clothes? How'd they make those coconut cream pies without Cream of Tarter??

Discuss.

YEAH!!! How come the Skipper stayed so fat after all those years of eating coconuts and nanners?! I think maybe there were, i stress "WERE", inhabitants on that island after all!

I can understand them not wanting to play nice with Gilligan and the Skipper... But how come the Professor never got to "tap" any of that?! Were they closet lesbians? Was the Professors doctorate in "male relations"? Hmmmmm... That's the ONLY explanation for the girls not getting knocked up on that island.

How come the old folks lived so long and not die of exposure?! HMMMMM

Have you heard the one about the castaways representing the 7 deadly sins?

Prof = Pride
Mary Ann = Envy
Ginger = Lust
Mr H = Greed
Mrs H = Sloth
Skipper = Anger + Gluttony

Oh, that leaves Gilligan without one.......

He is Satan himself.

Mary Ann..... let's discuss. Mary Ann was a farm girl yes?? Where'd she get those heels? They couldn't have been Ginger's. We all know she had raptor sized feet.

I still find it hard to believe that there is and uncharted desert island (with a jungle on it ) within 3 hours of Hawaii with the international phone line running through it! (Remember the episode with the phone line?)

Starch made from tubers.
Most likely developed by the professor when he was looking for something for Mary Ann ti use for doing laundry.

Come on, would you want to be rescued if you were stuck on your own island with Mary Ann?
Oh wait. umm you probably would eh.

I vagueley remember it being explained that the Howels were on their last day of vacation and had their luggage with them for the trip since they would be leaving as soon as the boat returned so Mrs. Howel shared with the girls.
There was also an episode where a trunk of old silent movie costumes and props washes up.
Ginger made many of her clothes from tarps and such from the Minnow.

Cream of tarter is made from grapes. Other acidic salts can be substituted as well.

Phone line washed up during a hurricane. I was fishing off San Diego and when we hauled in the ancher it had hooked a phone cable, scared the crap out of us when we pulled it up.

Well of course. He'd just hop on the yacht his crew had off camera...

Again, the answer to everything.
