Yup, might as well ditch her now. Nothing worse then someone trying to make you do things like geting rid of your stuff.

Yea, I see a red light flashing. she's gonna be on you all the time about get rid of your jeep, and getting something she wants in place of it. my wife tried that, about a year after I got mine, I told her she can sell her santa fe, and buy a truck. my jeep is staying.

Yup, I would lose her now! My first wife did that to me, traded my '02 X TJ for a POS Caravan. Divorced her, got a '97 Sport and my current girlfriend of three years loves my Jeep. I hate women who want to change a guy then leave him.

Let me quote Motley Crue....."girl don't go away mad....girl just go away"

Dude, if you EVER let a woman dictate to you how you should live your life or what you should do, you might as well cut it off right now put it in a jar and hand it to her.

I've had my 68 Firebird since I was a junior in high school and now I'm 44. I've had several girls including my mother in law suggest that it might be time to sell the car. Please note that the car is still here and the girls are gone. My wife likes the car and was the one who suggested that I take the Firebird off the road and restore it the right way. That's why the Firebird and my wife are still around. Now if only I could get rid of my mother in law!!!

When I was married we had to get something better to haul the kids around in. I ended up going from this. (warning crappy photos ahead)

to a 2006 dodge grand crapavan. When I did it I didnt have a problem with it. After a few months it started to eat at me. I lost all my wheeling buddys since I didnt have a truck to wheel in.

Tell her she better look at geting a truck for her self so she can haul your jeep across the good oll U.S of A. If she wants to stay around.

Sounds to me like it's JK8-time!

You get the whole 'Yes Dear' effect while you watch her head explode.

Good man! If you would have kept her, she would have wanted you to get rid of other things and change for her. Then after she changed you, she would have found another man and you would have been left with nothing. One girl I dated wanted me to give up RC planes, RC rock crawlers, then my music, then said she would never move back with me to my native land of NH. Bye, bye b!tch! Now I'm with an awesome woman who says she will never let me get rid of my Jeep or any of my toys.

Guess I'm just one of the lucky ones. I commented everytime I saw a jeep go by and one weekend morning my wife got me up and said " We are going out today and get you a jeep." " Just tell me which car you want to get rid of"
Guess I'll keep her ( and my wrangler) !

If I was told to get rid of my jeep and get a truck I will tell her she has two options either get use to the jeep or option 2 pack your bags and get to walking

Another option is to get a truck, but keep the Jeep.

Im thinking about an old 89 Chevy, they are dirt cheap on CL and easy to maintain.

Lookin at an 89 4x4 right now for 800.
Theres a 99 Tahoe sellin for 750 I can loball and use it for a YJ drivetrain donor....

My dilemma is that I can't get rid of my whole family - no one likes the Jeep. There are lot fewer kittens in this world just to irritate me. My husband has his Titan and that's fine, and I guess the rest of them can walk to lax practice, or the pool, or their friends' houses... Silly boys. They are so prissy they can't deal without the power options and no vents in the back.

It just means they won't be asking to use your Jeep when they can drive.

I told my wife long long time ago..You are my wife, not my MOTHER...
What is it with some people to try and TELL other 'supposedly equal' people what to do, get or buy...Heyzu chreesto!

She never said boo when I got into motorcycles..(now she's got her own ;-)
Then when I wanted a Jeepster...she's like...YEAH! So after 19 years of marriage things are good! :-)

I'm a firm believer in treating people the way I want to be treated. Since I would never tolerate my man dictating what I can and cannot do with my own money, I will never do the same with him. We have discussions about finances, and we may give each other advice we don't want to hear, but never dictate.

So, you made the right choice to save you from aggravation later. The Jeep was just a start for her to see what kind of control she had.
