Can anyone recommend a good and free forum service that you have had experience with?

My strong advice is dont be cheap, buy Vbulletin its worth every penny and you only have to pay once, ignore what they say

how much $$ does that run? I'm just looking for a simple forum to set up wheeling trips.

A club down in Laredo uses:

Makephpbb.com

and has had no problems that I know of.

Around 100$ for a legit copy of it.

VB is what you want to go with without a doubt.

Thanks, I checked out that site. maybe later on after the new forum gets enough members everyone there could chip in to upgrade.

Nothing is wrong with this site and its one of my favorites, it's the site Ive posted the most on if that says anything.

I was going to setup a new site for local wheeling trips down here.

Someone else just set one up, its not jeep specific so hopefully we'll get a good amount of locals on it.

Upgrading will be a beeeyyatch if you start with some cheapo free forum software thats why I said splash out on VB from the start. its a doddle to migrate/upgrade/move your forum with VB, its a royal in the derrier to migrate from another forum to VB
