good pair of boots

So i recently purchased a new pair of Red Wing boots. They are the same same boot that i've already had for the last 3 years, except steel toe...So i've been wearing the new boots for a few weeks and they are great but just not the same. I needed to fix the mud flap on my GF's car this morning and i though "i'll throw on my old boots" it was like seeing an old friend

The new boots will get there some day, hopefully. I've never had a pair of steel toe's before.

Steel toe's are a little different, I went with non steel toe this last time and it took a little getting used to, I prefer the steel toes. Since working construction when I kick things now it hurts my toes lol. They will break in to you soon congrats on another good pair of boots

I've always wore steel toe jumper boots. I like to have the zipper. Makes it easy to put on and off =don't need to tie anymore. In the past 20 years working the jail, I've only gone thru 3-sets. I'm on my 3rd now. They usually last me 7 good years. And I do ALOT of walking.

I go with Caterpillar boots. Comfortable, last pretty good and I can dig a trench with them no sweat.

I am a big fan of "Cat" Boots. Wear the steel toe for work and soft toe for casual dress

When I worked garbage in Chicago, I used to go through a pair of work boots every 6 months. Those were boots bought at Sears. A friend clued me into Red Wings and I went from 6 months to 3 + years per pair. By the time my boots were ready for the scrap heap, they were pretty disgusting. When I got married my wife made me keep them at work because they would cause her to gag if she got within a few feet of them.

ive got a pair of danners that ive had for a few years and they are still going strong. hands down the most comfortable steel toes ive ever worn. i also have a pair of wolverines with a composite toe for working in nuclear plants that are pretty close to as comfortable as my danners. they fit a little looser cause they are a wellington style boot. come to think of it i put a danners insole in my wolverine boots. danners are the best IMO.

I carry a very sharp knife on my belt just for that reason.I have scars on my ankles from slag, thems welding tattoos.I have to bounce around all over the shop so I'm doing alittle of everything and you can kick a wellington clear across a shop if on fire real quick like!I really like my carhartts tho.Leather laces, the ones that came with the boots go in the trash right off. They burn up immediately.

i got a pretty funny story about my wellingtons. when i wear my wellingtons i just pull them on and go, i dont really care if one pant leg is out of the boot and ones inside doesnt bother me. i was working in TN at the time, first day there working and i didnt know anybody. i open up the shop door and everybody is standing around about to start the morning safety meeting when this really fat guy looks at me and asks me if im a cranberry farmer. im wondering wtf is that supposed to mean? so i take it the offensive way and reply back "what are you, a donut farmer?" turns out fat slob was making a comment about the way my pants were tucked into my boots. oh i almost forgot that fat slob was the shop foreman so guess who was on his shit list for the rest of the day

Like Pecos I wore sears for years got maybe 6 months. A friend that worked on a road crew told me about Wolverine Durashocks. Super lightweight, don't need to break them in and I can walk through water up to the laces without leaks and they last three years. They cost but you get what you pay for.

I am on 2 years with my wolverine boots composite toe. They are at the end of there time. I actually never tie them anymore. They fit so well and are so comfy that I have no reason to tie them lol. The only issue now is they are leaking water. Ehh I am going to get some danners this time around. What height do you guys and gals buy them in. MY wolverines are 10in tall.

these are the ones i got and they are amazing. i stepped in a muck hole that went up past the top of the boot and they only let in a little bit of mud and water in. since the inside is gortex it was dry by the time i took my boots off. mine leak a little bit but thats to be expected with a boot thats a couple years old
