good times at IHOP....

copied straight from the blog....a long read, i know....but good times nonetheless.

So I get home from work last night....all is normal. By the time I finally make it home, its probly about 1 am, which is pretty early for me since I work a 5-5 shift. So I play on the computer a little while, waste some time around the house while myself, Bri, and Donny get ready to go get something to eat. Now remember that choices are pretty slim at this point in the evening, being about 2am and all. So we decide to head down to our local IHOP to get some breakfast. We make it down to IHOP and being that it is a Tuesday night at 2am, it's pretty dead. So we get our table, get our drink orders in and patiently wait for our server to return to take our orders. He does so in a timely matter as anything at this point in the evening shouldnt take too long since we are 1 or 3 tables with people at it. We place our order and things go on as one would normally expect. Well, in walks 2 girls and 1 guy; they all sit down at a table kind of across from us. They are all talking kinda loudly and a little bit slurred, and I think I even her one girl say, "I need water cause I'm drunk." Ok, I understand. Been there. Done that. All's ok. Another guy(we'll deem him guy #2) walks in and sits down with them. He is the belligerent one of the group. He proceeds to loudly exclaim that the server is fucking amazing and he loves him and all the people around him.....including us. I even popped my collar for the lad since he seemed to be having such a good time. Meanwhile, girl #1 is making faces at me as if to say "I don't know what the hell is wrong with him, please help me." but all I can do is giggle at the fact that they are seated at the table with this guy.
Anyways, girl #2's phone rings....she answers and proceeds to talk for a few minutes before guy #2 takes the phone from her and starts talking to the guy on the other end of the phone. I knew it was a guy from the way he was talking to him. He kept trying to get the guy to come to IHOP by giving him directions and telling him on the corner of what streets it was. This carries on for a little while and ends with guy #2 saying "If you cant find it, you're a fucking idiot." and hanging up.
Alriiiiiight.....maybe he knows the guy. So we continue about our meal while still listening and laughing at the table full of drunk folk, which on any other occasion would have been just fine. But fate would not have it be so easy......the phone rings again. Guy #1 answers the phone this time....he is a little bit more aggressive. He says things like..."We're with the girls you wish you were with."...so their conversation goes a little bit before turning into a conversation about the guy on the other end coming to IHOP to "settle it". So guy #1 is provoking this by exclaiming..."I fight for a living, we can have it out and then have bacon afterwards."....and my personal favorite, "You can have your eggs over-easy cause you'll have just had your ass kicked over-hard." Guy #1 hangs up.
Uuummmm......alriiiiight. Things appear to be getting a little more tense and girl #1 is staring at me more often now with an even more frightened look on her face. Things aren't going to go up from here, are they? We get our check, and even though everything in me tells me to get the check and get up and leave; I can't make myself leave the booth....I know what's coming.....and its not good.
A few minutes pass by as we continue to talk about whatever it was we were talking about. Then from the front of the restaurant comes a guy(we'll call him new-guy #1) who exclaims, "You the guy talking shit??" And just starts SWINGING!!!!! He lands maybe one or two punches on guy #2 before the fight is pushed back onto out table right onto Donny and Bri. Donny, at this point, throws an elbow into the guy that is up against him and they manage to get off the table. At about this same time, another guy(call him new-guy #2) comes from the kitchen and immediately gets laid out by guy #1 in one single punch.
At this point, I am thinking to myself, I'm not getting punched or stabbed or whatever over these douche-bags, so I get up in the booth and hop over to the booth next to us so I am out of harms way.
So new-guy #2 is out cold on the floor and guy #1 AND guy #2 are wailing on new-guy #1, who is now on the floor getting his ass handing to him by both the guys, who seem to have been in a coupe of fights before and know how to handle themselves. So new-guy #2 manages to get up from being laid out and starts proclaiming "I'm a cop!!" "I'm a cop!!!" in a feeble attempt to get the other two guys to stop wailing on his friend. Well, they finally stop beating the ever-loving crap out of him and escape out the back door. So with new-guy #1 laying on the floor, new-guy #2 scurries to the bathroom continuing to claim that he is a cop and that we should make sure that the cops are called, even though it was them that had started the fight, at which point Donny decides to tell him that he has no business telling us what to do when he and his friend come in IHOP and start shit.
Everything calms down, the police arrive shortly there-after and we are forced to give a written statement, which is basically what I have just written above, just a little abbreviated, and we are free to leave. Our meal was comp'd and we went home full and with some good entertainment for the night.
And as for the guys.....we think the cops found one of the guys that were originally at IHOP. And the two new guys were still there, well....new-guy #1's wrist was broken and his face was mangled beyond recognition...thanks to the multiple elbows and kicks to the head he received from the guy #1 and guy #2. New-guy #2 ended with just a black eye. All in all, a good night at the IHOP.

I only made it through the first paragraph before the numbers confused me.

I've witnessed a few things like that before. Today it's always a bit scarier because God only know who's about to pull out a gun and start shooting people. I'm glad everything worked out ok and you guys weren't hurt. I hate to be stuck on this forum with Jack being the only admin.

For jeezus sakes you try to help a kid these days with his balloon and Chris Hansen walks out of no where. At least I didn't ask him for a ride home like that homeboy did last night on the show.

Oh, and Bronco's was one of the funniest moments of the last 6 months.
