At least they were playing with it in an appropriate location. Can't immagine one of those meeting a housewife and her 6500 pound Denali. Not going to catch any member of my family in one.

Death trap on the street. It's a souped up golf cart.

I canhonestly say this is the first time it ever occurred to me that I might enjoy having one of those...

Can you imagine knocking the doors off a Corvette on the turnpike in that thing?

A friend of mine was telling me about how well the smart car held up in the govt crash tests. Somehow I still wouldn't feel safe with a semi on my butt and smoke coming from his trailer brakes

Looks like a ton of fun. Suzuki should stop making that abomination they call the Hayabusa and start putting their motors in these little cars. 12,000 RPMs from a 'Busa motor never sounded so good!!

It looks to be just for fun, not to be street legal or anything. Just to see if they could do it. I think it looks like a blast! I had a video of a guy who put a Yamaha R1 motor on a shifter-cart. Absolutely insane. Would tear that Smart Car a new A$$ too.

My neighbor has one and it makes my Mini Cooper S look big, which is amusing. That size car makes a ton of sense for around-town driving, although I don't think the Smart gets near the gas mileage it should. The sub-liter cars in Europe are usually a blast to drive around town, and if you'd ever tried to park in Milan or Rome or Paris you'd appreciate them, too.

The spouse belonged to an electric car club and helped build a couple and they were fun to drive - I even got to race an electric car and the torque was astounding. Of course, the emergency shut-off was a huge switched fuse (high current interrupt) that looked straight out of a Frankenstein movie. Had we stayed in town, he was going to build an electric commuter car for work.

Yes it is obvious, but just as obvious is the fact that it is a street legal vehicle married to a street legal motor. As stated above just it gets the wheel in your head turning. As we are forced to drive these types of cars we will to mod them.

Funny you say that, I actually came up behind one in town today and got real close to him. He looked in his mirror(side) and then pulled forward into the cross walk.
