It's funnybhow the news docent bother to say that these people were not allowed to have a weapon in the first place. Or bought them illegaly. If guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns.

Well a bad guy doesn't need a gun to be bad. In fact a gun is highly inefficient and requires the bad guy to be there. If it becomes difficult for them to get guns they will just move on like the unibomber. He went o. For years killing untill his own family turned him in.

Exactly I wish I could carry everywhere. I have used my guns for defense. I was in a shootout in the California desert

Yup.

All this is beside the point: no person, and certainly no govt, can seperate you and your ability to be armed. But our erosion of rights will continue none the less due to power hungry elected officials who feel 150k a year just isn't enough to get by on, so they require special interests to buy their vote, which is treason. Literally. It is also the exact scenario Rome found in the end, which is all the more reason to be armed for the defense of your community. A day will come, eventually, when this will be necessary.

That is a valid statement. But anti gunners will say if you eliminate guns you will take away one of the ways to kill which will save lives. So where does it end? Every time something happens people run to the government like they are the all knowing OZ. But in reality the govt. is just like the wizard of oz. A dumbass behind a curtain.

Think i remember reading about your encounter in another post, very scary stuff! Glad you're ok.

Sort of reminds me of the old joke about the conversation a lawman had with an elderly lady who asked:

"Why are you wearing a pistol, are you expecting trouble?"

"No ma'am," the lawman replied. "If I were expecting trouble I'd have brought a rifle!"

Your situation just goes to show you though that sometimes trouble can find you even when you're not expecting it, in which case the way I see it the Boy Scouts have it right- "Be prepared!"

I have a dozen or so weapons, some that look "scary", have high capacity magazines, and are all together not politically correct, but have never harmed anything more dangerous than paper. I expect that will remain the case for the rest of my life, but I'm still prepared to use them should i find myself in an unexpected, but obviously not impossible, situation like yours.

I am willing to be reasonable. I'll give up mine when Obama gives up his armed protection for hmself and his family.

Or the TX Ranger a reporter once asked "Why do you carry a .45?", he smiled and said "'Cause they don't make a .46!"

It's good we are talking about these things. But should we be talking also about how to survive this. If history repeats its self it starts with registration then Confiscation. We all know we are not gonna shoot it out that would just be dumb and give the Feds the smoking gun. So I suggest make a plan till the constitution can be restored.

Well guys, they are planning to put the idea of reinstating the ban in front of congress tomorrow and Obama is planning to sign it to law on the 1st. If you haven't already you should call, text, email, Im, pm, tweet, Instagram, kik, carrier pigeon, morse code, smoke signal, and any other way you can to contact them and let them know that this has to be stopped. They are not just planning on bringing the ban back, they are trying to end guns as we know it.

I think it's to late for that. It's coming if I still had guns I would have hid them somewhere underground not on the property. I'm also ready for incarceration.

I hear ya, and I've been thinking about it quite a bit. But you know the saying, if you think its time to hide your guns its probably time to use them.

My 11 year old daughter said the saddest thing today. She told me if they get rid of all guns then the bad guy will use a hammer. Then she said I would much rather be shot then be killed with a hammer. How does a dad answer that? Even a 11 year old knows bad people just do what bad people do.

If it is that time we need to be organized to be effective if not we will be taken down one at a time and we will fail.

I agree completely. The opposition is no doubt counting on our lack of organization. Most men between the ages of generally 18 to 60, depending on your state, dont realize they are already in the militia; or that when the 2a speaks of the well regulated militia that refers to all of us male citizens. We are supposed to be the line of defense against tyranny.

I gotta agree with you guys. People here NRA and think guns guns guns guns guns guns. Its not the case the nra just protects are right to own guns and controls what how and where we get them. The nra is to help us and most people who are anti gun won't agree with that.!

I look at that and see its very anti gun. What pisses me off is will Farrell is in a anti gun commercial and they show him in one of his movies shotting someone! How HYPOCRITICAL is that?!

Some of you are seriously scary. I suppose you agree with this guy:

"The government is afraid of the guns people have because they have to have control of the people at all times. Once you take away the guns, you can do anything to the people. You give them an inch and they take a mile. I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government. The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control.

Those who betray or subvert the Constitution are guilty of sedition and/or treason, are domestic enemies and should and will be punished accordingly. It also stands to reason that anyone who sympathizes with the enemy or gives aid or comfort to said enemy is likewise guilty. I have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution "

-Timothy McVey

This was said nearly 20 years ago and none of his paranoid, mentally-ill conspiracy theories have happened...and they won't in your lifetimes either.

What worries me most is that people who think like this are going to get tired of waiting for their Rambo fantasies to come true and so decide to be the next whack-job to dress up in their fetishistic commando gear and take out a bunch of innocent people. You can dress it up in the skin of patriotism all you want, but underneath it's just naked aggression and the desire to destroy. I can only hope that those who feel this way have some shred of sanity left and will recognize that they need professional help.

To the guy above me I'm not a survival nut but please recognize one of the first things Hitler did was disarm the populace.

Look it up it right there for all to see.

It's happening so slowly, but yet at the speed of light.

Do you realize that out nation is only two hundred years old? And we went from only having a war tax, to a tax on everything we do.

Do you realize that we went from being authorized a free jury trial from anything over a value of $25 being contested, to being charged for a jury trial unless you are suspected of committing a felony.

Do you realize that the United Nations is deciding how we spend our foreign aid?

Do you realize that it is illegal for a foreign nation to lobby our congress?
