FoxNews made that spoof... Liberals are against guns, Conservatives are for them.... This is making fun of the Left Wing's ideas on gun control.

Gun control is a joke. Our government, BOTH parties, have shown a lack of common sense any more.

In Australia they outlawed all guns, and the only people that had guns were the bad guys. The crime rate went through the roof! They have since worked to put the guns back in the hands of the citizens.

It would be wonderful to live in a world where guns were only used for hunting and recreation, but thats not the case. I have guns, and I know how to use them. I'll run off into the mountains and shoot everyone on sight before I let them take my guns away.

I think we should all carry guns on our belts like they did in the old west. People would think a little more about pulling a gun on someone if they knew that EVERYONE else was packing heat too.

Every one of you not living in a socialist state, should take the necessary steps to get a concealed carry permit. The more of us there are the better.

in mass u cant have a gun unless you need it for your job or is used for hunting, and if you dont have a hunting license (or a ccw license which is impossible to get) you cant carry a gun even in your car locked up

As soon as I am out on my own, I am getting a cc, taking many classes, and maybe joining a shooting team or at least a club.

Yes there are, which is more reason good people should go armed.

I'm not telling you, I'm giving you a piece of propaganda you can spread around to people in your state to help wake them up.
The laws won't change if all we do is sit around complaining about them.

As it seems here in this thread, most posting seem to think along the lines of "an armed country, is a safer country".
Would that be correct?

You can counter any argument they make with a little research and thought.

I think that's obvious, but just make my position clear, here's a hand.

Relax my friend, I'm a gun owning, hunting, sport shooting guy myself.

I just can't agree with the fact that going armed will solve crime.
In order to do that, along with going armed MANY laws are going to have to be changed.

I'm quite relaxed, in fact I'm about to go to sleep.

I don't see where "many" laws would need to be changed. There are many laws which are blatantly unconstitutional which need to be flushed anyway.
But lets see what Harvard has to say on the subject.

Harvard Gun Study.
Quote:
In fact, many nations with high gun ownership have significantly lower murder and suicide rates.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harvard Journal Study of Worldwide Data Obliterates Notion that Gun Ownership Correlates with Violence
Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy Confirms that Reducing Gun Ownership by Law-Abiding Citizens Does Nothing to Reduce Violence Worldwide

By now, any informed American is familiar with Dr. John R. Lott, Jr.'s famous axiom of "More Guns, Less Crime." In other words , American jurisdictions that allow law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms are far safer and more crime-free than jurisdictions that enact stringent "gun control" laws.

Very simply, the ability of law-abiding citizens to possess firearms has helped reduce violent crime in America.
More here.

The only problem with this theory is , its more or less what the gangs in metro areas are doing as you and I are typing.
The criminals will still have guns and so will you and I. So quick draw wins? Maybe in that instance yes, but what about next time, when the losing party brings 5 people and you are 1.
Also all states right now do not have the same laws in places.
For instance in Illinois, even if someone is "in my house" I have to "prove" the intruder is a threat to my/my familys well being. God forbid they flee and I shoot them on my property, I had better be able to drag them back inside and plant a weapon in their hand or guess what. I would get sued by one of their family members.
