Since we're talking about airsoft...

Attachment 255323

From what I hear CMP was hammered with sales, like every other gun shop. I believe they still have some higher end match grade rifles, though they might as well be curio and relic. We pay to have the post WWII US owned weapons destroyed and scraped.

I LOVE to shoot! I've got a Ruger P89, Ruger LC9 (CC everyday), S&W M&P9, S&W 357 revolver, AR15, Remington 870, H&R single shot 12ga, and a Henry single shot .22

Going to be buying my new handgun in about 2 weeks... a Coonan Classic!

The Most Common Guns In My Carry Rotation

At last count there were 30+ or so handguns in my safe along with another 20 or so rifles/shotguns. There is only one safe queen (non-shooter), a 1943 production Remington Rand 1911A1 in 96%+ condition. Everything else gets shot, but a small smattering of handguns find their way into the daily carry rotation.

1990's production Colt S80 stainless Government that was customized at Gunsite.

A Springfield Professional Model

A Colt Series 70 Combat Government Model customized by Jason Burton at Heirloom Precision:

My Colt 1991A1 Compact customized by Dave Erickson at Condition One:

The same pistol, but dressed for church, a wedding or other dress up social event:

Lately, my vintage S&W Model 66-1 has been seeing more holster time

Finally, there is always a rifle/carbine in the Jeep, this was the mount that I used in both a HUMMER H3 and a F150, working on a solution for the JEEP:

Cool AR, but a silencer and all that other bling just makes it incredibly unwieldy for a vehicle. Mr. bad guy, please wait while I tun on my eotech and awkwardly navigate an extra 8 inches of metal on my rifle around my windshield.

You can buy basically anything in Florida, so why not a short barreled rifle or sub machinegun... Just my opinion.

Something tells me with all that hardware he has a go to handgun up front and the AR is probably sitting by incase serious shit goes down. That's a nice collection of 1911's!

And so noted. The Eotech was okay as I did not have to wait to turn it on as the iron sights were co-witnessed in the lower 1/3 of the field of view and could be used quite easily if there was not time to turn it on. The Eotech has however been replaced by an Aimpoint T-1 Micro which is left on 24/7. The carbine is in fact a 11.5" barrel, with the can in place it swings and runs in a car about like a standard 16" gun. My last three vehicles have been a H3, a F150 Supercrew and now my JKU, all 3 have great interior room which make maneuvering the gun inside quite easy. And, the can makes it a little more tolerable to shoot from inside the car. Firing any gun inside of the car with out hearing protection, especially a SBR is what i refer to as a "significant emotional experience."

Yes, go to handgun ALWAYS on my person when in my JKU, looking to mount the carbine in the JKU to the drive shaft tunnel behind the front seats like I did in the H3.

Thank you, 1911's are a passion for me. I also have a 1* Elite built on a Springfield from Yost-Bonitz Custom and a couple of other high end factory semi-customs. I am currently working on my first self build on a Springfield base gun. A couple of more parts to fit then out for refinishing. I will do a before/after thread when complete.

I'm waiting on a new 2011 from SV Infinity... 6 more months.

Significant emotional experience... I like that, I had one of those when I shot a deer with my 7mm mag last year. I think bambie had one too as he just hung out for another 15 minutes afterwards.

Goddamnit, I can't wait to move out of this Nazi state (CA) to just outside of Austin, TX. Boating, guns, off-roading, a nice house for less than half a mil, and the same pay scale.

I hear ya. I moved here from san diego a year ago. the only bad part is that I could take my rifles out to 1000+ meters in cali, not so much in Texas.

My One and Only Safe Queen

You sir, have a fine collection. My best 1911 is a Springfield Loaded in .45.

My first qual (1983) on the 45, they literally dumped them out of a cardboard box onto the table prior to issue. The slide had about as much play right-to-left as it did fore and aft....

Might I ask what makes it a safe queen? Is it a particularly valuable gun, or is sentimental?

I own a few nice guns, but I'm not fortunate enough to own any guns that I'd consider safe queens.

It is a safe queen based on the fact that they are not made anymore and that particularly nice specimens of the GI guns are becoming more and more scarce. Should a part fail during shooting (remember that this particular piece is almost 70 years old), repair or replacement of parts would degrade the collector value. I have plenty of other 1911's for target or defensive work.

I will grab a pic of my safe queen. Its a Winchester Model 1894. Its been in my family since it was new. My great great grandfather bought it new......... in 1897. My grandfather gave it to me before he died and told me not to fire it since it hasn't been fired since the early 1950's. Its action is smooth and good and I keep it clean and oiled but I don't know if its fireable.

More strict than the US but not as bad as UK and AUS. I hate some of the BS rules here... most of it happened after some Quebec A-Hole went on a killing spree in 1989. Then in 95' we got some sweeping gun control, mag limits and crap like that. Punish everyone in a country with one of the lowest violent crime rates in the world, due to one douchebag

Added a couple more the last few days, bringing the collection up to 68 now. I need another safe bad.
Picked up this Sig P938 on Thursday.

Then today I picked up this beautiful Ed Brown Executive Elite 1911. I've been wanting a real nice custom 1911 for a while. I have a few Kimbers but nothing like this, until now.

Ed Browns are nice. I had a Special Forces Model, sold to fund a HK USC to UMP conversion.

New Rattlesnake

I came into this 1976 production Colt Diamondback yesterday for dirt cheap. No box or papers but the gun looks unfired, absent the rotation marks around the cylinder.
