Oh, I certainly know why they charge what they charge. Pistols just don't do it for me... they are by nature concealed weapons for close combat, and that ain't my cup of tea for sport shooting. Personal preferences, and all.

But again, they are very, very nice pistols. One of a kind craftsmanship, indeed. And I am glad you enjoy yours; that is the whole point of custom. I'd still prefer an AC556 at ~5k to a custom built pistol for 4300$, and if I was buying one a year, I'd go ahead and spring for a Ma Duece or 1919. Again, just my shillings.

I love my weapons like my children, and my children love my weapons. My youngest... my 10 year old daughter got her first deer at 7.

Not just a gun, it's your gun, exactly how you wanted it.
Very nice!

Check out HOME A $6k pistol is not uncommon from these guys. They build true family heirlooms. Jason Burton built me a "Fighting Pistol" conversion on a Series 70 Colt Combat Government that I supplied. My bill at the end was $4920.

I normally have this can on my Walther P22, but finally got around to picking up the adapter for my GSG .22 1911. Whisper quiet with subsonic .22lr

Will that gsg cycle with subs and a can? Which brand subs do you prefer? Gotta love sub .22 and a can, thwack is all ya hear. Peaceful serenity AND target practice, all together, lol.

Very nice pistol, I love the time that must've gone into those. It trancends into a piece of art somewhere along the way, imo, but I'd still prefer to pass down a serengeti/kilimanjaro largebore, should I want a gun worth more than my Jeep and an heirloom. I don't, and would very much feel the pain from budgeting one.

Cool thread. I buy or build myself a gun every year for my birthday present . I am going Thursday to pick up another Spikes tactical stripped lower and begin building another AR. Not sure on what I want this one to be yet but I am leaning towards a 5.45x39 build due to cheap and easy to find ammo.
My guns are not expensive show pieces like some of you have. Mine are for getting beat on and shot as much as I can afford ammo. I am also trying to locate a M&P shield 40 cal for a daily CCW gun as the FS 40 is hard to hide with shorts and summer shirts.

2 M1 Garands (1942 Springfield and 1944 Springfield)
2 Kimber 1911's (5" Stainless and 4" Pro Carry)
Mossberg 44US .22LR (1943)

Only the stainless 1911 isn't pictured.

The 1942 Garand:

Time to head back down to the CMP in Anniston to pick up some more.
The 1911's are for range and carry.

On the list:
Ed Brown 1911
Dan Wesson 1911
M&P Shield 9mm

Having owned a lot of guns, I'm pretty much down to what I want. My nephew will really benefit from my getting too old to shoot:

Colt 6920, Sig 239 SAS 40, Sig 220 45, Colt Python, SW Model 17, Browning T-Bolt, Browning Safari 270.

Ok, so its apparent we all love our guns and im willing to bet we all have our own method of home protection. Me, I use Three. My Girlfriend keeps my Colt Woodsman sport .22 by her side and I keep my Springfield Armory R.O. 1911 by mine along with my pump 12 gauge. So my question is on your home defense weapon how many of you keep one in the pipe with the hammer dropped???

I get most of my stuff from Aim surplus here in Ohio. Its not to far away and I can buy online and schedule an appointment to pick it up the following week. The spikes lowers have been hard to get lately but I had it set to send me an email when they were in stock. Gmail to my phone and 2 minutes later I had it bought.Im excited to go pick it up tomorrow. I built one last year the same way. Spikes punisher lower and a DD 5.56 m4 barrel with a rock river fire group in an aero precision upper. All magpul FDE furniture and then I did a durabake FDE on everything else.Finished it off with a Primary Arms 30mm Red Dot. Nice red dot for cheap.

My CCW and go every where and sleep with gun is my M&P FS40 with no safety no mag lock. Its always ready to go with one in the pipe and nothing to mess with, just draw and squeeze.I keep it in a kydex/leather hybrid holster so the trigger is protected. It does take both hands to pull it from the holster if Its laying loose but If Im wearing it its smooth as butter one hand draw.

Unloaded, mag nearby or mag in. I live in a highrise and my door is super thick, no point. And if it comes down before I can pop in a mag and rack, I should be thinking about hands on head and laying on the floor.

(30) 5.56 in the stack & none in the chamber. Mainly for animals (foxes, yotes, bears, etc) that like to wander onto our property, so racking one is not a problem. People round here tend to know better than sneaking round at night, there are too many hollows to hide the body in.
