Have you ever been so cold...

That your Jeep started making all sorts of new noises and things just started breaking because it's never seen single digits? Forget this midwest nonsense. I was born and raised here but I can't handle the cold anymore and clearly my TJ can't either. Sat I'm heading back out to California for a couple weeks to warm up.

In all seriousness though, my Jeep only makes certain noises at certain temps. It's obnoxious.

Have seen -20 or -25...depending on location...here this winter. Past winters have seen 22 days of January never get above 0.

And this is SOUTH Dakota... I live in the SOUTH...something got lost in the translation here...

ha, I noticed that a few days ago when we had a freeze, I started the jeep up and it sounded like every individual piece of plastic in the thing was squeaking

Rolled the windows down and took all the indie out of the soft top here in north Florida. Felt great! I came up with excuses to go places today.

It got down to 63 degrees here one night in February, 2006. It only lasted a couple of hours but we were really suffering. I remember putting on one of my winter t-shirts. Those are the ones without holes. I think we even had to partially close one of the sliding glass doors on the windward side of the house. We walked down the hill to the beach to see how cold the ocean felt, and it was down to around 75 degrees, too! It was so cold, I threw a windbreaker in the Land Rover in case it got any worse, but that was the coldest we've seen it here in over seven years. Thank goodness it didn't snow.

You got cold problems. We got salt corrosion issues. Your issues will warm up and go away. Ours...well....we're about to junk two 2006 Defenders with less than 25,000 miles on them. That kinda sucks. We're trading them in on a 2013 JKU. A Sport model with the 24S package. the price? Forty seven thousand US dollars.

Did I make you feel better about the temporary cold, yet?

We still have salt corrosion issues up here, road salt. We also have hail, tornadoes, blizzards, floods, uninsured illegals etc etc. Every region has it's way of ruining vehicles

BUT you made me feel alot better about spending $10,000 on my Jeep, I had a hard time dropping that much on it vice 13k for a B6 S4 Avant. If I were to drop almost 50k on something it certainly wouldn't be a JK.

Yup, pass. We had a windchill of -10 the other night and I went outside to move my Jeep, as soon as it started up pulleys started squealing, my dash was rattling, s**t was crazy. I promptly shut it off, went inside and threw more wood in the fire.

Can't really blame it on the cold, but why not...14 deg. here Wednesday & the TJ starts making noises...throw out bearing goes out, front axle u-joints need replaced, new brakes and rotors...$850. I'm 50 yrs old, 6' 240lbs and stuck stuffing my fat @$$ down into my son's Fiero. I HATE COLD WEATHER!!!!
