A bunch of the people in the cheap, easy mods thread say to roughen all the trim stuff up but I didn't. I just did light even coats and let it dry fully between them. Took longer but worked out fine

Roughing it up isnt bad idea but with kryoln you need to roughing it bc there is a chemical in it that helps it adhere to the plastic as long as you wash it real good and then use denatured alcohol to get get rid of the oils and crap you will be fine just do light coats like ocg posted
