I fear to say it's because the women left. Which is fine with me, I'm never came into the clubhouse looking for women. But apparently some did.

I think of the clubhouse as a place to get back to being a primal man. The thing is, guys can sit for hours together and never speak a word. That doesn't translate well to the internet. Women however... yak, yak, yak, yak...

Anyway... hope it comes back, I enjoyed the old thread.

I enjoyed the old thread as well. I agree with you on it being a place for us men to come hang out and BS, but doesn't seem like much BS'ing going on. So....what did u BBQ this past weekend? What is everyone BBQ'ing this weekend?

Actually, I was wheeling last weekend. I only grabbed some hot dogs & instant mac & cheese before taking off. Turned out to be "Turkey Franks"... that's what I get for being in a hurry.

I can't BBQ at my apartment. Only have a charcoal grill & they don't allow that. I'm about to say screw it though.

I'm really trying to get into some Dutch Oven cooking. I got a Lodge Logic dutch oven and I'm curious to try out some recipes.

Lodge doesn't support our troops. I ordered 4 dutchies from them and then they refused flat out to ship them to an APO.

When asked why not, the guy told me that they simply don't ship to apo/fpo.

I told him to cancel my order, refund my money and kick rocks.

Evening, all. A buddy of mine used to make a pretty decent peach cobbler in a dutch oven in the campfire. Goes down smooth with a cold beer.

I don't know if this is "he man" enough for the thread but I gotta hot date tonight. (first date) It's my first one in almost a year. I hate dating. You gotta spend money in order to figure out whether you want to spend more time (and therefore more money) with someone.

Well, there's a book that came with it. But I have found some more. 1 was a boy scout website.

Absolutely! Nothing more He Man than putting yourself out there.

There is a company that makes a table made of steel that you can cook on. You can use it on your patio or wherever. They fold down for camping, I'm thinking about getting 1. If I can find the link I'll put it up here.

Dutchovendude.com

There are decent looking recipes on there. 2-hour chili looks pretty good. (if you like beans in your chili)

I think this will take a lot of experimentation. I understand cooking with a Dutch oven is more complicated than a regular oven, and that confuses the hell out of me.

We'll see how it goes. I'm not your "modern man" in that I'm not really soft spoken & can actually be quite vulgar at times. I mean, I clean up well for public presentation, but it takes some doing. Haha!

My initial thought was that it would be more simple due to the fact you're only using one pot. However, maybe I'm wrong there. I don't do well with complicated kitchen stuff.

That was my initial thinking, too. I wonder how you check cooking temp on a campfire...time to google.

We would either set a grate up on logs above the fire or set it in the embers. Just get yourself a cooking thermometer & I'd say you're set.
