Anyway... hope it comes back, I enjoyed the old thread.

So... I was looking for a Dutch Oven recipe for twice baked mac & cheese. A few of us are getting together for Turkey Day in the desert and I thought it would be easy-ish to make & yummy. I found this recipe online, but it's not necessarily for a Dutch Oven. I haven't looked at dutchovendude.com yet...but will be today.

Any chef types have any ideas?

Los57... two things:
#1: how did it go last night?
#2: I've heard peach cobbler in a Dutch Oven is delicious. Also apple crisp is supposed to be great.

Nah, everyone knows you actually get a star on your man card for cooking as long as it is manly (cast iron, campfire, grill, etc).

We're good. Start putting on a frilly apron and taking about quiche and we will have issues.

Twice baked mac-n-cheese sounds excellent. With all this talk about dutch ovens I'm now considering getting one for an upcoming camping trip my son & I will be taking. Gotta teach him right.

The date went pretty well, but I'm not too sure how much I'd like to pursue it. She's widowed (9months) and has three daughters living at home. Seems like a very sensitive situation and maybe more than I'm willing to tackle. As far as peach cobbler in a Dutch oven, it's delicious. Our recipe was pretty simple but good nonetheless.

Good morning, all!

rubi & BW....

Los... yea that sounds like a lot to take on. My advice there (take it or leave it) is that people just have baggage sometimes. If the girl is good and not just lonely and wanting companionship because of the recent widowing... maybe stick it out & see what's up. If things turn crazy you can always move to a new zip code & change your number.

That's kind of what I was thinking, just see how things play out. As far as if things get crazy...may need a lesson from you on how to make a ghillie suit.
