Yeah I know. I called bestop and they said I had to go through 4wd hardware to get it fixed. So I called them and because it was damaged in shipping, they have to file a claim with ups. So now ups has to come pick up the bumper and send it back. After they get it back, my replacement will ship out. Not very happy with all parties involved!

What do you need to remove them legally?

Haven't really had time. I may get to taking it apart today. How do I check the bushings in the control arms and track bars?

Bushings genrally show signs of cracking and tearing. But I would look at where the track bar mounts on the axle. I'm told(no real experience here) that any play no matter how small can result in dw. Look for chaffing or scrapped paint in those areas. Its a sign of movement when there shouldn't be any.

One wau to check the bushings is to use a pry bar and put pressure on tjem see if they move too much. How much is too much? Now thats hard to explain on here so tje onlu thing i could tell you is to check all of them front and back and see if any of them seem softer than the others.

I ordered the synergy bolt kit. It looks like there's up and down play on the lower trackbar bolt from just looking at the paint wear. I'm going to replace all the bolts and go from there. I think the toe got knocked out, but I'll have to measure that and adjust as necessary. It looks like the toe is pointing out from a visual inspection, but that could be wrong. Hopefully the bolts take care of the problem. I had to borrow my parent's Escape so me, my 20 year old, and 3 friends could go out for the one's birthday. The Escape is a terrible car to drive...

Just remember it may not be the bolt but could be the bracket itself. If the hole the bolt goes through is oblonged a new bolt won't cure the problem. My undestanding is you nee to either ream out the hole to the next size up or weld a new piece of metal and re drill the hole. if you search in the search bar there are threads on how to fix this. I would but busy right now. Good luck!

Could I get the dealer to fix this under warranty if it's the stock sized bolt?

If this is your problem, probably won't be covered under warranty work, especially if you've done any mods to the vehicle. But it can't hurt to ask right?

If you need to weld a new piece of metal on there, then just use washers for the correct sized bolt. Did this with my spring perches and it works great.

The reason I ask that even if it's lifted, it's the stock bolt that's causing the issue. It will depend on my dealer of course.

We really don't have any ladies in here any more, which aint a problem I reckon. But Happy New Year to ya. Hope everyone is able to get out on the trials, minimize carnage, & enjoy the open spaces we still have left to us.

I despise those things. We used to have speed cameras but people wouldn't pay them so they went away. To be legal in AZ a speeding ticket has to be delivered in person.
