I live in the strip club capital of the world, from smoking hot to she looks like she got beat with a 2x4, you can have your pick of whatever around here. Oh, there's one in MD that's BYOB. You give the bartender your beer and pay to get it back.

So I slept over with a friend last night...which is the second night in a row. That's not a good thing because she's in to me and we've been friends for about 15 years and I'm good friends with pretty much alllllllll her family and I already told her that I wouldn't date her because of that and her kid.

Soooooo....I was at the bar before that and saw an aquaintance of mine who was there with his mom and sister. I had no idea he has a sister and no idea she was hot. I got her number after about 10 minutes and we're probably going for a ride on Saturday. I felt like an ass this morning because I kept calling her April and her name is Amber.

And earlier in the evening I was throwing darts in the league and the ex was out with her team. I passed her several times through doorways and crowded areas and she wouldn't even look me in the eye. All my friends that I throw with were being asses and I didn't say a damn word about it. That felt good.

So, I'm a dyslexic story steller...

Mornin'.

So quick question. Is it good to do cardio on the same days as lifting?

Doing a light cardio is always good before lifting. Helps get your blood flowing & helps prevent injuries by getting your muscles a little loose before killing them. As far as going all out on both I'd do them on separate days.

Huh...I usually do 1/2 hour of cardio and 45 mins of lifting

No... honestly your lifting does enough for cardio that you dont need to run unless you just want to be lean. Cardio will eat up at your muscle growth so bulking will be harder. If you just want to lose weight and lean out though, cardio mixed with lifting is good. If you want to do cardio AND bulk, you REALLY need to increase your lifting time to a long time to offset the muscle loss from it.

Not sure if that was a lame attempt at an argument? Nothing wrong with what your doing but I wouldn't call that going all out on either one. My point was that some light cardio is great for warming up. But if you do a hard cardio then try to lift then your lifting wont be as effective. Works the same way if you lift your ass off & then try to do cardio... Your muscles simply won't allow the same workout as doing them on separate days. It's all relative to what each individuals goals are it sounds like Six is trying to cut fat & gain muscle at the same time which is not easy to do. It'll take pushing both very hard vs just trying to do cardio to cut weight or just lifting to gain muscle.

Lifting CAN be enough for you to lose weight...but not if you do it like the toolbags in my gym... seems the benches will float away if you don't sit on them and talk to each other...

Aaaand we're getting pretty serious about this lifting stuff... just a little break in the action for you, but keeping with a fitness theme...

Just out of curiosity have any of you tried that insanity workout? I have a copy of it & I think I'm going to ATTEMPT it. I'm not in bad shape but not in great shape anymore either so I think may try to get ripped up & then go for bulking. Of course I'm not sure if I can even complete the program... I heard the warm up is enough to kill you! Lol

If anybody has tried it I'd love to get your thoughts on it.

My original goal was to hit 170lbs and decide on what to do from there. I'm down 35lbs and have 35 to go. I just started lifting because I figure as I do build muscle, that will eat fat better and allow me to be lazier.

Once I hit 170, depending on what I look like at that point I may try and concentrate more on lifting, but I'd definitely like to be leaner. I still have a gut. I want abs and muscles and stuff.

I have not tried that, but I've also heard it is... well... insanity.

As a general question...what does everyone think of these "programs"? I have a P90X package I've never taken out of the box. I dunno if following a program is for me. Sometimes I'd just rather do my own thing.

Your right around where I started. was 231lbs mid summer now down to 208lbs and dropping. When you lift do you go heavy or light with high reps. I try to mix it up a little myself.
