Gas is super efficient but I do love the flavor of charcoal. Lunch today consists of some pork steaks I grilled a couple days ago. When I heat it up my office smells like a Barbour. Awesome.

X2 on the gas line to the patio.

Had I had a natural gas BBQ, id run a line out to it. Right now its a Propane setup but I think I can convert it easily enough when the funds are there.... but that might not be till I die as there are too many things my JK wants.

I've been toying with the idea of building a hitch mounted smoker for large trail events. 2 things are stopping me.

1. I have no place to store it.

2. I'll get stuck at the smoker & not get to wheel!!

Fellas, I just switched from lump charcoal to a gas grill. I like the shorter wait time, but miss the 'art' of cooking with 'real fire'.

I recommend some avoidance of the "kini rule"... Although a huge success on some levels, much butthurt ensued and the clubhouse got shut down. I think Rach made em all jealous.
I was just disappointed about the turkey really. Things are better on the other front.

I have a Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. It's pretty much set it and forget it. I can set it up for a pork shoulder and it'll burn overnight and be ready in the morning. There's been times I've set it and went out. I'll post photos when I get to a computer. I did a 20lb turkey and a 15lb turkey on thanksgiving and that was the only time I had to watch it because of the high temps I you need for those birds. I had it over 350 which some people complain is impossible to get to and maintain. I like being smart.

You could build a small smoker. Mount the firebox on the hitch. Build a tire carrier mount for the cooking chamber, since it won't get very hot. Connect the 2 with some exhaust tubing. You could even spring mount them to isolate shock and vibration. This way you can cook and wheel at the same time. Dinner is done when the wheeling is done.

LOL, have you seen this done? I would love to see this set-up! But no way my smoker gets coil-overs before my rig does.

Of course I haven't tried it. It's ridiculous! And I don't have a welder.

The original was released in 85 and it's Bruce Cambell and Sam Raimi's first movie iirc. The remake was pretty bad ass. I'd go see it again.

That made my morning. And I'm going wheeling at least once before the Jeel gets sold. Putting it on Craigslist tomorrow. Everyone is telling me to hold on to it, but if I sell it I can buy an older one outright as a toy and afford to mod it and destroy it on the trails.

Don't apologize, congratulate. I hated that job with a passion. I just remembered a friend who started a brew pub. I'm going to go talk to him about a possible job brewing.

So much for my diet. I had some friends invite me over for dinner. The guy used to be my roommate and is a chef. He made steaks, roasted brussel sprouts, cauliflower purée, avocado salad, and some amazing smoothies. I put a shot of vodka in mine. I feel like I'm going to asplode!
