the entire thing is horseshit! if preexisting condition is the problem then why not fix it instead of adding billions onto the national deficit that already doesnt work..ie medicaid which my grandmother has to pay 150 dollars a month for already. it isnt free, we will pay for it and it doesnt cover everyone like nancy wants us to believe, it will leave out millions of americans and also will leave out barrack and his family which was put in the bill on purpose. if its so great then why are multiple states already sueing the federal gov for this unconstitutional obamacare.

something else that is not right is how obama told house democrats that if they did not vote for the care would not be given a nice office or possibly not reelected next term so they would vote for his plan. ridiculous! its time Americans stand up and educate themselves on these kind of things before we vote again this year.

I opted out of health care at my job a few months back and they give me an extra $100 a pay period. I just had to show that I'm covered by my wife's insurance which is much cheaper than mine was. She works for the IRS and as far as I know there are no changes.

I'm using Glenn Beck as a gauge to determine whether or not reform is a bad thing. If he cries on air and predicts the end of the world, then I'll know it must be a terrible thing and join the flock.

Only 8 more months until we can vote the dumokrats out. Watch for Obozo to write a executive order to outlaw guns.

Oh I don't know......I get a kick out of it.

In the beginning, I was a big Obama naysayer. I thought he was full of lies and empty promises. However, the people spoke. And even though I didn't want him as my President, he became the leader of the free world. For the first 6 months or so, I decided I'd cut the guy some slack and see if he could make good on some of his promises. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the miracles he promised. Surprise, surprise. Now I just want him replaced.

Well the guy just passed a bill that has been trying to get passed since 1912... kind of a big deal, or as the vp put " a big f***ing deal " lol. Think what you want of him, your opinion is your own, but in twenty years we will see who was on the right side of history...not saying your wrong.. but we will see.

I honestly didnt think this bill was going to pass a few weeks ago, I am impressed, and proud of this administration for making this happen without a single vote from the opposition. Its to bad this country is so divided that bipartisanism couldnt happen, but if thats the way they want to play it, thats how it will get played. I stated in a post before how i was for this reform but didnt believe right now was the best time for it, and it may not be, but its here and its signed so lets learn to accept it.

As for Obozo taking your guns....dude seriously that same song and dance... I have talked to the guy at the sporting goods store who has been there 30 some odd years and every time a democrat gets elected all the far rightys go running with fists full of dollars throwing it at him to sell him every last round of ammunition he has. Frankly he said he votes democrat for that reason alone, he makes a killing, so do the gun, and ammo manufacturers.

So you may not like anything this guy has done so far, but you cannot deny with as much opposition as he faces, that he has accomplished a few things so far....hate them or not.

btw Bush was voted the 3rd worst president of our history, along with the worst person to be in power in the last 30 years.

first, a correction to the few who said it didn't matter, they would just do without the insurance, well this bill makes it illegal to not be covered by some type of plan. Yes, fines for anyone not paying into an insurance plan. Thats not socialism, right?

and thank you lionheart, we HAVE to vote out these morons who voted for this bill despite the majority of the public that did NOT approve of this! We elect these people to represent us! That is not what they are doing and i can only hope the suits filed by these states holds some water

You say they passed this without opposition from the other side, this is true and proves how democrats control congress as we speak. however mark my words... it will change this year when we get to vote. The people spoke and our representitives didnt listen, I was currently laid off due to the economy and am now covered by my wifes insurance. Why however am I forced to have health insurance by my gov. which if my wife didnt work I wouldnt be able to afford but my neighbor who makes 100,000 a year opts out of med coverage and can afford it has a kid and now that they have a kid is covered under medicaid because he didnt want the extra money taken from his weekly check? I feel for our children and our grandchildren who will have to pay for this ridiculous spending. Fix the old system first before they pass a bill they never read. As far as him achieving anything since elected, i would like to know what he has achieved except spend more money than all presidents combined in American history? I am a hard worker and have worked hard for everything I have, I guess maybe the government will take care of me considering Im laid off for the first time in my life....lets go "jobs package"! aka another stimulus. sorry for venting I mean no disrespect but I stand firm on my beliefs and patriotism and will do or say whatever i feel is neccessary to protect my freedom and rights as an American.

I understand your point and the idea of the government forcing everyone to purchase insurance doesn't sit well with me either. I'm just curious though . . . which is worse or closer to socialism . . . being forced to pay for your own insurance like the new plan lays out . . . or being forced to pay for those that don't bother to pay for their own insurance like we have in the current system?

First, being fined by the government if you don't have a health care package is ridiculous. Second, the Feds mandating states to start covering more health care costs without providing the funding to do so is, or at least should be, illegal. Next, regarding socialized medicine... I sat at a table having lunch with a bunch of Canadians at a police trade show a couple years ago. The topic got to Canada's socialized health care system and every one of them had nothing but complaints. They said it was easy to get minor things taken care of but if you needed surgery for something that wasn't life threatening, it could take months if not years to get it taken care of. Several said they came across the border into the U.S. for much of their medical care due to the shape of the Canadian health care system.

I for one HOPE the Obamacare health care package works perfectly, lowers health care costs, makes people healthier live longer, cures cancer, and speeds up payment for doctors and other health care professionals. I don't give it a snow ball's chance in Hell of that happening though.

Nobody is making you get government insurance..its an option. If you love coverage you have now keep it. Compition for the private sector drives premiums down. Before the united states postal service was formed do you know how much it was the mail an item via pony express or whatever private company did the service for you?

Why do you think drivers are required to have car insurance? Is that a rediculous policy? When people don't have insurance, be it auto or health, it ends up costing tax payers more money, and drives premiums up. Requiring everyone to have health insurance is a no brainer.

I am using car insurance as an indirect example. If drivers were not required to have it a lot of people would go without it, what happens when they slam into you and they don't have a pot to piss in? Your car still needs fixed....your insurance has to cover it...what happens then....your premium goes up that's what happens.

This same person the next day appendix blows he goes and gets opperated on. He has no insurance...who pays for this opperation? You do when your premiums go up. Doctors have to save this gus life either way, they took a hypocratic oath.

This bill is designed to give insurance company's a run for their money, to stop them from raising our premiums every year, to stop price fixing, a bill to help people. But I guess not everybody wants helped and I understand that, but like said before its here and signed so you will have to deal with it.

Don't worry Kilgore . . . this is more of the right leaning that you identified in that other thread. Stick with things like death panels for the elderly and abortions funded by tax dollars and I bet no one accuses you of sippin' on the Koolaid.

Actually, it's not "more of the right leaning". It's a mood lightener. Kilgore has a cool user name so I made reference to Vonnegut. That is all.

Continue..........
