I know exactly what you mean about the connection thing. I'm so used to how my other dog acted and Jodi is really different. It's a nice change though.

[QUOTE=tiny terror;98368]She's a pitbull-lab mix. But she was horribly under-weight and had just had a litter of puppies which we never found. She was covered in ticks and bites and was the most timid thing I'd ever seen. QUOTE]

How long did it take for her to come around with the timidness?

Tiny that is great that you stepped up and saved that dog. It would have been easy to turn your head and ignore it. You did good.

Active: Dogs live in the now they forget quickly and learn the same. Give a month or so in a stable home and she should come around.

Not long. She's not totally secure though. She's still a major pig and will eat until she's sick, I think she's afraid of being hungry again. And she's terrified of the hose, golf clubs, and being out at night (she has to be walked outside once it gets dark).

But she's not timid like she used to be and she's taken to keeping an eye on my youngest when he's outside. It's funny to watch. She's always with him. I've had lots of dogs and she's got to be the best. She's my first rescue and I'll always go that route now.
