HexaKopter - I want one!

This thing is nuts!
I spent enough time on my RC Heli to know I'd crash the snot out of it

Saw that over on another forum, great concept. I particularly like the GPS controls.

they just need a video camera on a vf signal that transmits back to a screen on his controls and he could attack his neighbors from his back yard...

or send over some cargo hehe.

That could backfire in soooo many ways. You sure about that one?

The controls are uber quick on that thing. WOW, I want one too. But I think that I would get in trouble with it.

I have one similar to that, only it has 4 rotors, and no GPS. Crashed the hell out of it. It is actually hard to get all the rotors balanced.

They usually don't work too well in the real world.

^ That thing is awesome! ^

That guy is an awesome pilot. I know that thing is pretty smart, but not THAT smart. I couldnt do a tent of what he was doing with my heli. I mostly walked around behind it and when the tail turned away from me I'd get all confused to easy. And I can fly (slower) rc planes!

Those things take LOTS of time to master. Props to the pilot for sure

When the machines take over and start hunting us all down, that thing will be on the front lines.

Even the guy flying it there looks a little nervous.

But totally awesome, obviously.

Anybody ever play Half-Life? Remember those cameras that hover around your head and give away your position if you don't shoot them down? That's what this reminds me of!

I gave up on video games for the most part after play station 2...I loose patience hahahha

When we flew the hellis and the planes on a regular basis, we did experiment with low end cameras. mostly little digital ones taking snapshots cuz the real cheap ones that had transmitting capability weren't didn't work well at all.

We were mostly into park fliers (4 channel electric) so we didn't have to always go to the airfield, we could throw em out in the field next to the park and have some fun

The helli was cool, but the stress in flying it sucked some of the fun out of it for sure. The park fliers, you could have a bunch of crashes and just keep taping em up and they still flew!

(Sorry for the long babble)

One cool thing we did do on the heli that I wish we took pics of was mount bottle rockets on it and were able to light the fuse remotely. That was really cool to see it up in the air at night shooting off lil bottle rockets!

That Hexacopter is about the coolest flying machine I've seen in a long time. I just sent copies of the link to it out to a bunch of aeronautical engineer buddies to get their reactions. I'm thinking they're going to be pretty amazed at the control software & engineering that went into it. Wow!

Huh? You lost me Az. I was referring to the full size Hexacopter being a dynamic shooting platform for long range precision shooting.
