Chrome is okay in small amounts. Not digging your front bumper though... Lol The side steps are fine though.

My steps are ok. I wanna go all black tho. And put rock sliders on obsess of steps. But let's face the facts.
I'm in highschool.
Gas is expensive
I drive a jeep.
And I can't work for the next 5 or so months.
And when I do get to work I get about 20 hours a week. Only 9 bucks an hour.
So.....
No mods will come soon.
Unless my grandpa finally hits the lotto.
And he decides he loves me enough to give me money

If a 4x4 driveshaft has been disconnected at the u-joint, how bad of an idea is it to re-connect it yourself, at your house? I've never experienced what it was doing before it was disconnected.

I have no idea but it doesn't seem too hard to reconnect provided you have the right tools. I gathered never done it, but I have atleast seen it done. I wonder why it was disconnected...

You could always drill a spot on the bumper. Just make sure the holes are even. That would look kinda funny.

The PO told me it needed a new tcase...but it was lifted 3.5" and the driveshaft wasn't lengthened, which makes for a hard shift into 4x4...or so I've read.

You can lengthen some linkage but I forget what it is called right now... but it has to do with the handle to the t-case.

yes, you can extend your linkage there may be some left to play with, you can get a kit to extend it, or you can fab it yourself with a little creativity.

I'll do some before and afters once I do my bumpers. I'll be in the Outer Banks next week so... I doubt I'll get that done for a little while.

So how would I go about reconnecting the driveshaft, and fixing the linkage myself?

I'll wait to do a before and after in a week or two when I get my lift and 33s. As of now, the only mods I've done since I bought it a couple months ago is a new soft top w/ tinted windows and door sill guards. I also picked up some Olympic 4x4 rocker bars on craigslist but haven't got around to putting them on yet.

I only did 3" of lift and I'm keeping the 31"s for now... but they've got good tread no biggie. I need to put my quick disconnects and order the bumpers. Any of you guys know of a good rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier.

sounds good buddy. and rocky, well I have no clue about the DS so im not gona try and make something up. I suggest googling it, and see if you can find anything on here, pirate4x4, jeep forum, as to how to do it. look for a nice write up. as for the linkage. find the linkage under neath, and see if you can find the adjustments on it. I cant think of exactly how to do it, and I dont think id give a good description. I was just looking at it a few days ago because of the rough 4lo I told you about but I didnt adjust it any.

This may sound silly, but how do I find the linkage?

were still talkin the 4x4 linkage right? haha its late. anyways well logically it would be between the tcase lever and the tcase. Ill see if I can find a pic for you.

Straight from the fingers of Jerry bransford:
"The bolt that holds the linkage in adjustment is circled in red below."

Here a diagram of the linkage but its actually kind of confusing, haha.

im not sure if you need to loose the red circled bolt or the one up and to the right of it, but im sure youll figure it out with a little wrenching.
