So i went to start eh jeep and nothing happened. Didn't even crank. Im thinking that my starter is bad, especially the solenoid. My question: If I buy a starter, does it come with the solenoid or is that a totally different part? thank you.

Start with the obvious. Make sure your battery terminals are TIGHT. They can be on where your lights work, and no starter.

Then try to jump start it. If that doesn't work, then check the starter.

my battery works enough for the lights, and for my iPod and stuff. I noticed that for the past month or so it takes awhile to turn over, and I can get it to start eventually if I keep trying to turn my key. It either doesn't do anything, or it starts alright, no in between.

lol no, I don't think thats the case. but does a solenoid come with a starter? I got quoted 65 bucks for the part and 300 bucks for a garage to replace it (lol) no way in hell I'm taking it to a garage.

I'd still check the terminals first. They're finicky.

You can also have the starter checked by removing it and taking it to a major parts place.

Sucks don't it? I ran into that problem buying spray paint two years ago to paint my flares. Had to get my dad to buy it.

That is.corrosion. it gets between the terminal and the connector and why you can't start it. Regular coke works great for removing it, but rinse well well with water or it attracts bugs.

No, not enough to cause issues.
