Synthetic is stronger and safer it's just soo pricey. Granted the steel looks really cool sitting up there but still that's not the real purpose of a winch.

I can't wait for my warm 9k
Although I think my rear carrier will be my next big purchase, anyone have a brand recommendation? I'm thinking just pay the $800 and match my front warn.

But with all the rocks we have here, I don't want to risk the rope cutting, even with the sleeve

Match the front. It'd look better and cleaner

Do it for tips. Drake is right about the liability and without tow truck plates you could be severely fined.

Not towing just rescuing, there won't be a fine persay it's like at car wash fundraisers, you donate but kids have to.... It's almost a required donation.

But there is 1 f250 in town that I hope gets stuck, I'll laugh all day at him. He has a sticker in his back window of ford peeing on jeep payback will be sweet haha

You'll still need tow plates or a legal waiver to not be liable for damages

Why haven't I seen that truck?

He's right. It's different then a car wash. And btw the waiver isn't gonna hold up much in court, exp if your asking for payment. The law states you need tow plates.

Isn't there some good Samaritan law or something that helps protect in those situations?

That's for medical emergencies and for if your not taking any sort of payment. It differs state by state , but the waiver can't hurt.

Contract would be much better than a waiver. Have it written and reviewed by a lawyer. Have it signed by both parties and it will help your case if not completely save your ass

Got a new knife this morning. It's more of a rescue tool. Now to find a place in the jeep to carry it.

I'm about to order a new knife as well. I recommend carrying it in your pocket

One thing I've heard is to let them hook up the strap so you're not liable if they hook it to something you don't recommend.

What model? I get them through a guy at work at cost. That one cost $41. Better than 85.

Thats a nice Knife. How much did it run you? It would be nice to keep in my fire gear. Only problem I see with it is the seatbelt cutter. If it gets caught you could stab someone.

This is the knife I currently carry around. The locking system is awesome, the assisted opening is amazing and the blade is super sharp. The lifetime warranty from SOG is a plus too.
