Yeah the ones who never owned a friggin jeep.
Chrysler sucks.
The commander has 70k miles new rear diff internals, a/c compressor, starter, battery, etc and at this point the transmission is slipping and the water pump is leaking.

That's amazing! I haven't had a single problem on my jeep. (Yes I knocked on wood just to be safe)

The way to go is a suspension lift, if you have a TJ or JK all you need is a budget boost. It doesn't just raise the jeep off the frame, it raises the frame higher off the ground
I have a 2001 TJ Sport 5 speed I'd like 31s. But 31 by what? I want wider tires but how wide could I go?

31's will fit stock, I think 31x11.5r15 looks good and is pretty proportional to the height. What are you running now, 30x10.5?

Almost all 31's are 10.5" wide you'd be hard pressed to find one wider. If you move up to a 33 you could go 10.50, 12.50, 13.50, 14.50, sometimes you can even find a 15.50

For the record 10.50 won't stick past stock flares, I am running 33x10.50 with 4" lift and it looks amazing to me, plus when I stuff it spent rear up my flares like my friends 12.50s do. If I went bigger than 33 I'd have to go wider though.
