Sad day. Screw road salt. On the bright side the ultra rims are going on craigslist so I can get either some cragars or blackrocks

You can run quite a few through there. Just push something through the foam, like a long screwdriver.

I'm thinking about buying a 12" sub from kicker. It's on sale a 800watt sub for $65 I think.

I would have gotten 12"s but I made a custom box for mine and the box would be a little small for 12s, once I post pics you'll get why, there going under the roll bar

12" subs are not nearly as responsive as a 10" and they require more power. Do yourself a favor and downfire the box.

Depending on the 12 you can make it very responsive. It's really all in how the box is set up, if it has the right amount of power, the type of enclosure, and the direction it fires. But for a Jeep I think a 10 is perfect due to the size restraints. And yes, downfire. Derp knows whats up.

I beg to differ. No type of box will change the fact that 12's are sloppy and power hungry.

that makes no sense at all, and I know for a fact that you can have a nice responsive 12 because I ran one. I was saying that the sound quality depends on the type of enclosure. So don't misquote me. Ever heard a 12 Kicker L7 running off 800 watts? It sounds perfect. You can't generally say that a 12 inch sub is sloppy and power hungry, thats BS. If you really want to argue the point then back it up with some facts. But don't bring that garbage in here.

"The size doesn't necessarily play a big part in how hard they hit. The main thing is the frequency range. Some 10-inch subs have lower ranges than 12-inch subs. The maximum allowable wattage, coupled with the frequency range of the speaker, can give you a decent estimate of the speaker's capacity to hit hard."

There is a big difference between sloppy and power hungry, and a quality, correctly set up system.

I don't disagree with you on frequency range but even a 12 with perfect frequency response is still a 12 with large surface area. The fact is they're just hard to move.

Yeah we have quite a long ways to go to catch them. Although I think we had one of the fasted growths of a thread over the first year.

RF punch series are not sloppy subs and only use 150 rms watts. I wouldn't that's "power hungry"
