Attachment 269508

Just got my jcroffroad tailgate vent plate in. I suggested them to make one since I haven't found any other company that makes them for TJs. I can now get rid if that ugly vent. I'm going to have my friend at ACE Engineering powder coat it for me.

Alrighty. Been researching for the past 3 years since I got the jeep and joined the forum(when I was 14) and am really close to having everything picked out for when I get $(which will probably never happen) so I want some opinions on where I stand, which is:

For lift, the 4.25" zone combo. I'm praying that my jeep'll be one that doesn't fight the lift, and won't have vibes with the included mml.

Wheels, 15x8 3.75" bs level 8 tracker. Nice simple black steelie.

Tires, 5 33x12.5x15 duratracs. Love the look and have heard good things. I know theyre pricier, but I'm set on these tires.

Gonna start lookin for an 8.8 for the rear before I regear. When I do regear, I'll be going with 4.88 for my 04 4 banger.

For a bumper, the rough country stinger stubby. Again, just like the look. Will mowt likely get the winch ready one and save up over time for a warn. Do it right from the start. Haven't settled on a rear bumper yet.

For flares I plan to just trim the stock ones. May eventually go with tube style, but there's no one around here that'll give a $#!+ if the tire sticks out.

For lockers I'm still lookin. They're after a winch on my list.

For side rockers I'm hopin I can fab my own in shop this year. Might try to make my own belly armor too, going off pictures on the net.

I'm thinkin about one of those 50" light bars that are for sale on here for about $500. Was considering a light bar with like 4-5 kcs or somethin but heard those never make it through woods.

That's about it for the major stuff. Probably a new tie rod. Steering upgrades. Anything I'm lacking or maybe confused on? Open for input. Just trying to sound like I know what I'm looking for.

Id eventually look into a cv drive shaft and an sye to eliminate any vibrations. In my opinion I'd save the $500 for the lift bar an put it towards the drive shaft and sye. You lose a lot of clearance from the transfer case kid drop when you lift it. That's just my .02

DD here is on the money (im assuming he meant save the $500 from not buying a light bar you will very rarely get to use) with the exception that the Zone combo lift doesnt have a t-case drop. I have had their combo lift on for over a year now and love it. But if you are going to swap axles especially to an 8.8 an SYE and CV shaft are required and there is no way around that, not to mention that outting that axle under the jeep is a $1000 project alone to do properly.

If you do manage to make rockers more power to you, and under skids are tricky to make there is a lot of measuring, cutting, welding, grinding, and repeating in that process.

Everything else seems solid. And so the adventuee begins.

Yeah was just bored and this thread was dead so I figured I'd liven things up. As far as the sye, cv, and axle go, it makes more sense to get the axle first then regear vs regearing the d35 for a little while. The light bar is just something I'd considered. I go on a lot of night rides and use my jeep as a light source pretty often, so I figured I'd get enough use out of it plus they look mean.

Like I said, I really would rather wait to do sye and cv down the road, but didn't wanna drop the $ into regearing the d35 to have it break on me. I guess thatll be the route to go though. I just really want 33s asap.

Was the mml enough to stop any vibes for you? And which shocks did you get? Pics? For the price this seems like the best one I've seen to start with. Would love to go OME down the road but to start with..

People make the d35 out to be like it will explode driving down the road on 28s but honestly if you wheel smart you can run 33s locked without much worry.

I didnt have any vibes so yes the mml aligned it properly. I got the gas shocks becauee at the time I ordered they were a free upgrade.

The tires are sitting right at 31" tall right now I believe.
