No sir lol I had some place to be so I got him out then left. Then I guess he got stuck again and oil was leaking from it so he had to call his step brother to get him out. Idk if his car is okay or not.

36's on on a 4 in lift. Thought you needed 5inches but I dunno.

A lot of things go into running a 35 especially if you want to run one of the heaviest tires on the market. There are 37s out there that weigh less. If you have a d44 rear at least then you can I suppose slap a 4" lift on it and a body lift and then run the tire but you could possibly start breaking things depending on your wheeling style.

Also the general Red letters really aren't that good of a tire, they suck in mud, suck on wet rocks, moderate on dry rocks which is what they are designed for.

I realize its a good deal but I personally wouldn't bother.

35s actually work pretty well on a 4"lift if you have a BL so I guess your right 5" is best, but there are all those guys with LCG rigs running 35s and even 37s on stock to 2.5" coils just takes a good bit suspension geometry knowledge and cutting (highline fenders)

Yup, just start cutting and any tire will fit

When I say 5 I mean 4 inch suspension and 1 inch bl.

Level 8 is the brand, zx is the model of the wheel. Discount tire direct is about the only place that caries them. I found one other place but they were more expensive.

So I just had a major crisis. My parents purchased a 2001 Wrangler Sport that has been my baby for the last three months. I have scoured the forums and magazines and catalogs and done lots of research on suspension lifts, bumpers, winches, and everything. I have been saving money for those two months in order to purchase a lift. I finally decided on the zone 3" lift kit. I have been doing a lot of talking with my parents about buying it. My dad finally did some research on lifts today, and he didn't like the idea of doing it. I just came home from fishing today, sat down on the couch, and was greeted by my parents. Then they gave my this whole spiel about how they want ZERO modifications to their vehicle as long as they own it. They said that I can do whatever I want to do to it when I head off to college. WTF should I do? This jeep has been my life for the last two months. I don't understand their logic.

Man that sucks! Try to pull some bs that it improves handling because it fixes problems with the stock suspension and the larger tires (if you are getting them) are wider and help with traction and improve safety. I helped a friend of mine pull that with his dad by giving him a ride in mine and showing him how fun, i mean, stable it is to ride in. Good luck, and nice color choice!

Yeah, the bad thing is that my dad is an technical sort of person, and he believes that the lift will cause the jeep to be more prone to break. He says that the jeep is fine (even though the suspension is saggy anyways). I have tried almost everything I've got. They actually even took my keys away for arguing.

Hey man I'm in the same boat. Dad has the say so on everything, and he's told me that I can do whatever I want with it after college and when I have my own $ to mod it. Its best to just suck it up. Stick with other mods that affect appearance. Thats what I'm doing. If you have $ then get a nice a/t tire like the 31" duratrac and an offset wheel for now. That looks beast. Just start stockpiling parts for when it's yours. Who knows, maybe you'll catch them in a good mood one day and they'll say somethin like, since you have all these parts sittin around, lets go ahead and put em in.

My honest advice which you won't like to hear is suck it up, they do own it so they make the choices here. If you want to modify it and know you will one day own it then just make a saving account and DO NOT take anything out of it until you own the jeep and have a modification party.

On regards to your second post I didn't bother to quote in order to solve your saggy spring problem and gain an inch or so lift find a set of used TJ Rubicon springs and swap them in, and make sure if you do that then you will need nicer shocks to also improve ride quality so buy a good set of rancho 9000xl shocks and a set of 31s, then you will be set.

Hes right it can. I lifted mine need a new track bar
Control arms. It can get pricy. Eventually you may need new control arms and track bars sye. Pricey.

Here's what you do or saggy coils
V8zj springs. With bump your front about and inch and isn't really a lift.
Crown Vic intercepted springs in the rear agin about an inch.
The buy some 32'sby 11.50 and wheels looks lifted. And isn't real pricy. Your welcome.

Dude to be honest I'd listen to your parents. Yes it's cool but its so expensive and usually insurance companies don't cover after market parts. If I could do I again I'd pay my jeep off ASAP and buy a daily driver. Something good on gas or a (truck to tow it if you plan to wheel it.) Once you put a lift and over sized tires on your mpg is going to go to shit unless you regear and that's $1500. I'm struggling to pay my payments and gas bc it's so bad.

I'd start saving to buy your own, or buy it from them. It is their vehicle so they do have the final say. Or have a real discussion with them and find out exactly why they want it the way it is.

If I was in your shoes, I'd do what your parents say. I know it's not what you want to hear but it's the best option. And your dad is right, lifting any vehicle can make it more prone to break.
If you really want to mod it try starting off with something smaller like lights or bumpers

Either buy the jeep from them or try to reason with them. Obviously don't go against what they say. IMO if you have money to mod it, you have money to actually purchase the vehicle from them.
