I'm not even gonna press the point. He was in the military for the mj phase, had a cj and a scrambler, so he's just talkin from experience. I've got the lift and tires picked out, and I'm researching sye kits and all that jazz, but that'll just have to come later.

I drive a tj on 30 in. tires, and just lifted it 2 in this weekend. 2 in isn't enough to really make a big difference in handling or stability (it handles a little different, not worse, just different), but it looks a lot better, and you get more clearance. It's also really easy to do the work yourself, and if you do a budget boost, it's pretty cheap too.

This is what mine looks like after the lift.

I like the yellow. From what I can see, you should try plasti dip too. It really blended it all together back when all I did were the wheels and headlight bezels. Since then, I've played around with the stuff, like on the grill and hood and trail rated badge etc. Also, bedline the flares. So much better.

Yea, jeeps look really good in yellow. I've been meaning to paint my wheels black for a while, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I've thought about putting plasti dip on the hood, or the grill, or even the windshield kind of like some of the old CJ's. And I've always wanted half doors dude, they seem like they'd be more open than the full doors with the top down, and look a lot better too.

Yea but once he finally signs the jeep over to you, I'd throw on a 2 in budget boost until you have enough money to get the lift you really want. At 2 inches you shouldn't need an SYE, or adj. control arms or track bars, or even shocks (although if you don't get longer shocks, you loose some travel). Just bump stops and spacers.

Are the adj. track bars and control arms that important for a 2 in. lift? I had read that they didn't really matter, but I could be wrong.

For my birthday my dad ordered a hi-lift for me from amazon an this is how they shipped it. The powder coating is coming off on the base and rail.

I work at amazon and that shouldn't have been shipped like that, first make sure it was indeed sold by amazon, if it was call amazon and tell them about it, if it was sold by one of the businesses that advertise on amazon, contact them and complain. Either way they should exchange it for a new one.

Some jeeps not really other yes
On mine personally I needed front lowers to cure death wobble ( used to push axle forward because when it was lifted the axle sat to far back. ) track bars on mine not having the, has caused dog tracking in the rear and the axles stick out to one side. ) you may not need control arms (they should be on your list though good control arms can. Improve your flex. )

Which trac bar did you go with, and how tall is your lift? I just checked and my front axel is roughly 3/8-1/2 an in off.

My house was built in the 60's so it's not that old, but it creaks like a mother, especially the wooden kitchen floor and roof above the living room. I swear it sounds like someone's walking in the kitchen or walking on the roof when I'm home alone.

I heard metalcloack was good also but I found a front adj track bar on extremeterrain.com for $150 that can adjustable anywhere between a 3" to a 8" lift. I think thats the one I'm going to go with. But let me know how the metalcloak is!
