I was wondering at other peoples HS do any other jeepers ever take their top or doors off? At my school I've been driving for about a year and a half and there are about 8 jeeps at my school and I've never seen another with top or doors off? Why is that I take both top and doors off mine as much as possible...and about a month ago I left both top and doors off 2 weeks straight..

At my school there are a couple JKs, two YJs, and a few TJs. Mine is the biggest of the TJs and I'm the only one who takes the top and doors off. The people with JKs are scared too and I don't know the kids with YJs. People come up to me and ask if it's even safe to have the doors off and think I'm crazy lol

There's 7 of us seniors at my school that have JK/JKUs and 2 others that have YJs. The YJs have tops and doors off as much as possible. Us with the JKs and JKUs store stuff in our jeeps that we don't want left in the open. I like to keep my top and doors off during the summer and whenever I can in the spring and fall. Some of the others have subs they don't want open during the school year. I believe all of us are topless if not doorless during the summer. Now when it reaches the upper 90s, that's a different story

So how many if you actually have really built jeeps? Or put an excessive amount I work into it leaving you scrounging for quarters a few days before payday? How many of you actually work for your parts and install them yourselves?

i didn't ask if it was built: I asked if these people are building them and if they are paying for it. Lol, I highly doubt a high schooler afforded a $200 dif cover and a $300 truss. But I'll allow your argument. Proceed

Take a look at my jeep. Granted I'm in my sophomore year of college now. I've put every dollar of my own money into my jeep and built many parts including my axles tummy tuck bumpers and sliders myself. I can't say the same for everyone here but I can speak for myself. So yes I'm building and paying for mine. Are you?

The only reason I got a job this summer and still have it now is to support my jeep habit lol. And yes I do all of my mods because my dad is a mechanical engineer and has the mindset that anything can be accomplished with a little hard work and never pays anyone to do anything and has taught me to do almost anything I could ever want to do to my jeep (or around the house).

d35 to 8.8 LSD.it had 3.73s so I'm going to put it off a little longer so I can replace my front and rear gears. 4.88s I'm thinking. Should be an awesome outcome

I'm running an 8.8 rear now. Good axle. Building a front now (still saving/paying while classes are going on)

Not just mods, I have to pay for gas and half of the payments which is why I've been moving pretty slowly on my mod to do list.

I could've gone that route but i made a deal with my parents that I could match amount they gave me and pay it back and i could get something a little nicer. I was actually about to get a TJ with the money that they and my grandparents gave me but mine came on the market for a steal so i decided to go for it. And I've already almost payed it off since i make $9.50 an hour with no limit set to how much i can work and overtime money helps tremendously.
