I have an amp that has either 250 or 220 watts to power the sub that I want to buy

I think I'm almost done with my jeep build, at least until I get a higher steady income. Right now, all I'm looking to get are led head and fog lights, rock rails, and Tuffy security deck enclosure. No winch or upgraded lift for me

I don't remember who all said they were in robotics but hopefully (if you're in FIRST) I'll see you in St. Louis because my team won the engineering inspiration award which takes us to world championships

I know, sounds kinda crazy, but I'd like to do something to make my jeep have more power than my 2.5 powerhouse. Thanks y'all! Also, I got accepted to northwestern state university up in natchitoches (pronounced nack-it-tish for you yup yups) Louisiana, so hmu if you're in the area!! -Pat

There are a million threads on this just search it and pick a thread you can read.

All I can tell you is be prepared to spend well over $2000. You picked two motors that aren't really done too often, The most popular that i know of is the 5.3 Vortec from the Chevy trucks. If I were going to do it then the Dodge/Jeep 5.9 would be on the top of my list because it is by far the best low end power engine option and low end is where you want it if you do the offroading I do. If I didn't want to do the 5.9 then I would go find an LS1 from a Camaro, Trans Am or Covette that has been wrecked but that will be very pricey. If you don't want to go that route (which I can understand) then I'd go look at an LT1 from a little older Camaro or Trans Am. But here is a link to the best website I can think of when doing a swap. This website will help you pick engine/trans/tcase plus also sell you any brakcets that you will need.

Edit: I wouldn't suggest carbureting by the way, I realize he said that new offroad carbs don't starve on inclines and that is just not true. They are better that is for sure but if you are on a long incline it will start to starve. And on top of that I realize this might not matter now but I want you to consider if you move to another state after college then you need to think about the fact that a lot of states do not allow you to swap in an engine unless it is the same model year as the body or newer. While that may only be in a few states you also have to think about emissions because they are based off your 2.4l.

You won't be jealous for long. It'll start to get to the 90's within a month or so.

Thanks commando. I have a 2.5L, but I've been reading more on it, and I've decided Chevy is not the way to go. Keeping it MOPAR is definitely easier. Durango or Ram V8s like you said is basically motor mount relocations, adapters, and PCM flash. I know I left out a good bit, don't bite my head off. But hey, I think it'll be a good project. I'll try and find a 99 or better engine to get by emissions BS. I know carbs don't do well with inclines or water/muck, like the stuff I will be going through lol. One thing I have to do now is start gathering parts, cause I also have to do an axle swap to a D44. At least in the rear

I too am in it but this is our first year so I don't have super high hopes. And does anyone else have this problem when you finally take the top down in warm weather?

Haha nice. When you pull vehicles without tow hooks do you just wrap the strap around an axle?

I let them hook up the straps but that's what I recommend to them this on kid put his Mercedes into the ditch last time we got snow and called me he hooked it up to some part of his independent suspension and that ripped off so I pulled him out by his wheel

See if the dipshit was slightly knowledgable about his vehicle, he would know that most all German engineered cars have little to loops the screw into a special port on the front and rear bumper.... But I guess he's never been by his jack...if he knows where that is. I had to pull people out and jump them awhile ago because of a bad front...southern people don't do well in frozen rain lol

he hooked it up so it was his fault and his wheel because that's not going to rip off he wasn't giving it gas so it didn't spin and tangle
