Longer shocks mean less up travel unless your redo the mounts/outboard.

That was the plan, but someone gave me the budget boost for free. So now I'm just saving my cash and slowly replacing the budget boost/stock suspension with nicer parts.

Edit: I should also mention that when all is said and done my lift will only be between 2-3 in (I'd to for 4 in but I don have the cash), so I could use most of the parts with my current bb.

Well I know that the 03-06 TJ's transfer case/skid is 2 in lower to make room for the rubi air system, so I'm thinking I might be able to get away with a little bit more because of that.

well your drive shaft might still be too short along with the wrong angle

You'll need a SYE at MOST.. I'd be surprised if you need one for a 3" SL...

Well I guess I'll find out if I need one whenever I get that lift. So back in track, what are some good shocks that aren't going to make my wallet cry?

Hopefully I'm not about to get flamed, but for the price, I love my skyjacker hydros. I've only put a few hundred miles on them, but I am very happy with them. Skyjacker has a rebate going on right now so it'll come out to about $25 a shock. Even though Skyjacker is generally known as a crappy brand, it seems like the ones running this shock are happy with it.

My wallet cries all the time since I bought my jeep. I decided to make it cry louder and get the Rancho 9000XLs there's a $100 rebate going on now. I need to save up like another pay check or two but soon enough

I'd love to get some 9000s but my hydros will do for now. Besides, I got my mind set on new coils and a ford 8.8. That's when my wallet will go into chronic depression haha

I'm saving for shocks, trackbars, and a regear and Detroit so I can finally finish up my super 35. Speaking of springs anybody running ZJ coils up front? I figure they have to be better than stock coils and spacers..

About the shocks, when I put together my hybrid lift at 4wheelparts I went with the Pro comp Pro runners, they're valved the same as the 5100's and at 80 bucks a pop with a LIFETIME warranty. It's hard to beat. I'm not sure the warranty is still available at 4wheel parts though.
