There was a time when this was the fastest thread on the forum. Where are all the originals? We owned this place.

In case you don't know about the origins of this thread, I'm trying to rejuvenate it. One of the the things we did was throw music links at it. Some were pretty bad. What made this group different was that most where in high school at the time. I'm an exception.

Since then, most are in college. A few joined various branches of the military, so the thread is always evolving. Nothing wrong with that. It still revolves around the young kid who just acquired their first Jeep.

I think it'll pick up again once school rolls around and jeepers need to learn about the jeep instead of oh I don't know calc or trig or English maybe

That's the beauty of it. Somebody posted their math issues, and you'd get an answer. Not from me, but another regular that just went through it.

It was reasonable active right up until recently, most are probably just tied up with school at the moment.

Sup guys I'm going into my junior year of high school In Long Island, New York... I've had my jeep for about a month in a half now... Loving it, have a lot of work to do though and being that I've never worked on anything in the past and that I don't have much help this should be pretty interesting.

Finally figured out how to make an account. Turns out it's the big join here button, damn mobile. I don't get my jeep until May, but have lurked this thread for a long time. What would you guys recommend, a YJ or a TJ? I'd like manual but it doesn't matter. We are practically broke but I've been promised I get a jeep for my sixteenth birthday.

It picks up every august and September with new drivers and school. I miss the random music links and helping with HW tho. You couldn't find that any where else

Tj will have a nicer ride and more flex bit is more expensive to lift.

We don't have any rocks in Iowa, so I'm not needing a ton of flex. I heard YJs are way easier to work on because of the leaf springs, can anyone testify to that?

I've had both and to be honest they're both easy to work on but if I were to chose the yj is a tad easier I think just because it feels roomier to me for some reason lol but I love both of them

I'd say cheaper not easier. It's easier to lift them on a budget due to the less complicated suspension. Although they expense you save lifting a YJ might not matter when you consider that all YJs used the D35. If you get the TJ, make sure to get the D44 rear axle.

Probably a bigger deal to you than the suspension is that YJs will probably cost a good bit less due to their age, but that also means more potential for things to need to be replaced.
